I already have 150K with UOB one account since last year. Is it in any possible to maximise returns via pot of gold promotion?
open a UOB stash account, transfer $100K from a non UOB into it and register this account for your optimal POG.

Ah I missed this pot of gold promotion
I see the ending date is 31/3
i have Uob one account

is it still too late to open Uob stash
and top up $100k to it
from another bank?

my Bonus interest in cimb bank
expiring in march 31
or better to open the Uob stash
on last day of the march
and transfer $100k to it

You can open a stash account first. With that register its account number in the POG promotion to get at it.
The end date for the promotion is 29 March 25 so do it before. The effective interest rate for $100k is 3.93% (when computed over 5 months). Make sure your transfer into the stash account comes directly from a non UOB account not from UOB one account.

I would leave just $5k in CIMB bank in the hope that the BI which is dependent on having at least this amount on the end of the month in the account to work.

The stash account starts clocking the interest from the day you deposit the fund. That’s at a rate at 3% and unless I have a better rate than that I would deposit it as soon as I can.

Remember there is still a cooling off period of 12 hours to register the stash account number with the bank (from which the funds which u will be transferring from).
Other details should be in:
https://forms.uob.com.sg/personal/save/savings-festival.html

Usually the earmark period
starts from the day of the excess fund deposit
or from 1/3/25?

cimb bank bonus interest offering much higher
but unfortunately ending in 31/3

I didn’t see this distinction between an earmarked period (where interest is earned) and a non earmarked period (where no interest is paid) with UOB stash account (from my interest earned so far unlike some banks). Like I said, it appears that interest is paid from day 1 with stash. The rewards of $388 in my case was a one off payment 6 weeks after I registered my account.

In my view, I don’t believe that CIMB Bonus Interest exists any more (even if you had signed on at an earlier time). Their TnC has been written in a way that makes me think BI is not guaranteed.

Where is Royalmix? He is really very very good at this.

May I know the correct sequence?
1. open a stash account now (make no initial depost, can?)
2. register this account number in the POG promotion and choose the amount to be earmarked
3. deposit some $$$ (part of which will be earmarked for POG promotion)

Or, the step 3 before step 2?
Or, the step 2 and 3 in any order?

I did 1 (with $0) followed by 2 then 3.

for any doubt read the instruction in the link https://forms.uob.com.sg/personal/save/savings-festival.html which says :
Here’s how you can get a reward of up to S$688 in cash:
Step 1: Register your participation here by 29 Mar 2025
Step 2: Deposit new funds into your eligible UOB savings account. The new funds deposited will be set aside for approximately 5 months^ and cannot be withdrawn during this period.

  • Top up S$20,000 new funds to get S$68 cash .....

usually the reward
should be paid at end of the earmark period
but because it is paid earlier
i was thinking to put $150k
got the cash reward
then withdraw the $50k
and just keep the $100k
for earmark

No. The $150k will be locked away for 5 months. You won’t be able to withdraw the $50k off it before hand. The interest for the amount above $100k is nearly 0%

Ohh. It will be locked for $388
with no access to it?
that’s sound worst than a fixed deposit
That’s $65 more each month only
but again thanks

You will get the $388. Plus the interest every first day of the month. The principal is locked away till 5 months later
