This is a very niche product category.

Mecool KT1 DVB T2 version may be one option -- but the review seems to say the Tuner app built-in is not good. So probably no point to buy. And it is currently sold-out. It seems to be Google certified but not Netflix certified.

hmm....the default tv channels are not working as I dont have an antenna. Currently using the new media digital box to view limited local channels, but remote just died. On the other hand, my chromecast is also lagging though still able to watch VODs and some live streaming. Thus was thinking if there is any box that can do both, gonna be use by my non-tech savvy elders

Not ideal but doable as minimum spec. If you use paid streaming app, I believe 2gb is the minimum requirement. Also depends on bit rate & resolution of video files you're playing.

I don't know about oktv, but I use myiptiv app as reference. Its minimum requirement is 2gb RAM.

myiptv is a paid app, its playlist is proprietry. oktv is an open source app, there is no built in playlist.
However, you can compile your own playlist. so far, oktv is one of the most reputable iptv app and is compatiable to many different protocol and playlist type such as json, txt, ts, rspt, m3u, p2p and many other
it can even play yogurt .so playlist.
Probably one of the best free iptv app.

Saw this news. They are launching xiaomi tv box 5 and 5max. Shape look the same as Mi box S gen 3, but 5 Max come with 4+64GB storage.

Xiaomi China models are not recommended as they do not have Google and Netflix certifications.
