Srsly though TS …

Even without the double-image issue, the TV’s backlight doesn’t look right, especially when you consider X90 is a full-array model.

Mine also just spoilt. The warranty ended May last year. Not getting Samsung or LG again. Getting a TCL which is so much cheaper and using a much better and responsive Google TV OS
Yes, I get very good Google TV OS + YouTube on my P735 TCL.
I use Cat 6 UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) Ethernet cable connection RJ45 plug from Singtel Optical Network Router (LAN1 socket) to my TV.
For 2 weeks before that I used WiFi connection. UTP Cable from ONR to TV is better.

My parents' Sony olso kaput after around same amount of time. Bought them a leeplacement dat was not Sony. But leemember dat Sony ish their generation's Apple so they like dat brand.

Should be a small problem but in Singapore very difficult to find
Got it in Computer IT show in Suntec. March 2024.
Bought in 30 seconds. Quick decision. Low price don't need to agoniize over the matter.
Take a chance. Turned out OK. Now the price should be cheaper.

I cannot buy BIG TVs > 50 inches because I cannot handle/move it alone in the house.
43 inch is good enough for me.

TCL and Philips belong to the same company.😁

No.

TCL and Philips are distinct brands, with TCL being a Chinese company and Philips a Dutch multinational company. They have some business relationships in the past.
TCL had a distribution deal for Philips televisions.

Sorry, my bad. But Philips TV is now owned by TPV a company based in Hong Kong which also owns AOC

My bad. But Philips TV is now owned by TPV Technology which owns AOC and other brands.

"In April 2011, TPV Technology and Philips agreed to form a Netherlands-based television manufacturing joint venture comprising all of Philips' television operations, and owned 70% by TPV Technology and 30% by Philips.[15] Creation of the joint venture, named TP Vision, was completed in April 2012.[16] In January 2014, TPV Technology announced an agreement with Philips to transfer the remaining 30% shares to TPV, which was completed in May 2014, making TP Vision a wholly owned subsidiary of TPV Technology"

Good switch. I was also using ethernet connection for the TV. More stable and less radiation. I just got a p755.

mine sony tv
i tested playing the 4k movie n sound on different brand
end up buyed sony TV
Some one bought a LG TV and later say the speakers are too soft, compared to their previous Panasonic TV.
The Sony TV probably has better speakers.

I know why LG TV has lousy sound.
LG earns more profit by using low quality speakers inside the TV.
Because LG wants to sell to you their TV Sound Bar. For another few hundred dollars.

The cheap TCL P735 TV has good loud sound with its built-in speakers. I turned the volume to low.
The TV has an optical fibre audio output (TOSLINK).
I connect the TV using an optical fiber to my Sony cinema amplifier (which has a TOSLINK input).

Now can watch TV and listen to amplified TV sound through my Bowers & Wilkins loudspeakers.

most don't manufacture their own panels anyway. Most like LG cause they make their own panels and they make good panels. Your Sony is probably a LG panel too

Nope … mine is X90K so 1 generation later than TS’s … haven’t 1 year panel fail already … TV switch on for a minute or 2 the screen fade-to-black … when actually able to on, I went into Youtube 1 of the LCD panel test videos where they cycle through all the different solid colours, found like someone use a crayon or marker free-hand crudely draw a border a few cm in from the TV’s actual border … but under warranty so they took back the TV replaced the whole panel and brought back.

They don’t make ‘em like they used to.

how is ur x90k after the fix?

Sony quoted me $70 if not repairing it, after they diagnosed the problem

Otherwise

For confirmed repairs:
Labour fee: $150
Transportation fee: $35
Parts fee: As advised by technician

If you choose not to proceed with the repair after the technical inspection, the following fee will apply:
Assessment fee: $70.90

The charges are calculated as below example:
Example: Labour fee + Transportation fee + Parts fee + GST = Total cost

Either I sell it very cheap or I discard it ,the person who picks up has to send it to repair and spend some money

Suspect my mum's tv was actually a display set ,hence the price

If not wrong, she bought it at about $1800
