@jeremytansg

Why do u talk about HDB prices? We, the residents of Mountbatten don't give a t**t about HDB prices. Bro, maybe u can focus on something that resonates with us?

Actually, we manage our properties well with landscaping etc so we dun need someone to manage our estate per sey. So what can you bring to the table?
Cos u all staying private?

Against Lim Biow Chuan, no fight.
But against the new female face, not so certain.

This is why I oredi GXGX can get back deposit. I do not see how cannot considering the previous looser also can get back. Will not win though.

If u want to understand why bitcoin is more resistant to inflation, this is a very good article for the laymen like you
https://www.coinbase.com/en-gb/learn/crypto-basics/what-is-inflation

I guess u didn't read what he proposed.

His proposal is that not all Singaporeans are financially or tech savvy enough to invest in bitcoin with their money themselves.

Therefore if the CPF Board can include bitcoin as an investment option like the existing e.g. of how u can use CPF with Endowus, on stocks, bonds, unit trusts etc, and invest on the people's behalf, with a min guaranteed return at CPF floor rates, it offers a risk free avenue for people to invest in bitcoin safely - since the investment will not be done by common folks who lack the know-hows but by GIC fund managers.

You cannot even articulate why Bitcoin is resistant to inflation. If you truly think about it, you will know it is not as what you say.

This is per his website.

“The CPF has a floor rate that has been subjected to multiple changes over the years. To fully embrace Bitcoin, we need to guarantee any SGD amount invested in the Bitcoin ETF.”

Please tell me how this means what you said.

GE2025: Mountbatten SMC candidate Jeremy Tan aims to better former PAP MP’s standard

“Residents of Mountbatten expect a high standard and Lim Biow Chuan gave them that standard. My goal is to match ... and even be better than that standard,” said independent candidate Jeremy Tan during a walkabout on Friday (Apr 25).

Mr Tan is up against the People’s Action Party’s Gho Sze Kee for Mountbatten SMC in
#GE2025.

I'm disappointed why WP hasn't even consider sending one, just one, candidate to run at this SMC. Can't be that hard right?

Most people do not understand how the monetary system works. Bitcoin so far has shown to have higher beta to risk appetite, quite the opposite of being what money is suppose to do, be a stable store of value to conduct transactions.

The way Marine Parade is structured, there is Mountbatten, MacPherson and Joo Chiat to gerrymander with. WP will have to take on all to be gerrymander resistant.

Invest in bitcoin no. Invest in businesses i will agree.
the net outcome of GIC and Temasek of "investing in businesses" is your 3.9% real return.

If you feel satisfied with that and see it translate in real life then good for you. But Singaporeans do not.

Fixed deposit good enough for me.
If u want more votes, better not mentioned too much about this topic.

All the best Jeremy! Considering that majority of the voters live in private estates in this SMC, I actually think you stand chance of winning because private estates are not under town council's purview, so to them, it probably doesn't really matter if existing PAP estate managing agent is willing to continue serving opposition-held ward or not. Plus if you need advice on TC matter, you can always approach WP? I believe WP should be quite willing to help you too.

Remember the well-respected Chiam See Tong started off as an independent candidate too.

Jia you!

I don't want to buy more property. I want to buy A property.

You see how expensive resale flat is or not? $600k for a 4-room tampines flat (I planning to have 2 kids) which is nearing 40 years old and PAP expects me to be ok with it?! I'm now 34 female. If I damn heng to live until 100, PAP wants me at 95 (35+60 run to 0 lease) to move into new house? This narrative crazy or not??? What confuses me is that not a single PAP person thinks there is a problem with this conversation.

And I feel this HDB issue is pushing the problem to the next gen. All homeowners are expecting a "windfall" effect. How you windfall when BTO is at 550k? How much will you be selling? $800k? Who would be buying these resale flats? OUR CHILDREN.

And govt always say "we peg the BTO with resale price because 'market forces'" or don't know what elitist crap. BTO prices is you set one. You want to price it at $100,000 to crash the resale flats is also possible one. If everything also "market forces" "price taker" then we need government for what? Just privatise the whole govt la.

@jeremytansg I tell you truth: many rich people are unhappy with the way that PAP do things because they see it happening with their children and they are very worried.

World class ranking university but come out don't know do what job. You talk to any Y3 or Y4 students and I can guarantee at least 80% of them are not optimistic about jobs after graduation.

These are millionaires ah... and their children, as fresh grads, cannot afford a resale flat using their own salary. Their elite children, with their elite upbringing, can only go through BTO route then can buy a BTO, which is now hitting 600k for a plus area 4rm flat. You think throw face or not?
