Interesting sensor size comparison based on focal lengths.

An image sensor is like a bucket, the larger the sensor, the larger the bucket diameter.
Light photons are like rain drops, the larger the bucket the more water can be collected.
In this instance amount of water collected is information collected by the scene you are capturing.
All else equal, the Vivo x200 ultra should be especially strong at the 13/14mm end.

would this mean that the 1 inch sensor for the the 23mm, was then focused on 35mm with f1.69

In this instance for XM and Oppo 1 inch sensor covered 23mm< - >35mm
Anything smaller than 23mm is digital cropping hence the "sensor size" dropped.

I think the physics of making a less wide lens compact enough on 1 inch is not too feasible for now, personally I hope they eventually can put a 35mm on 1 inch sensor since that is my all time fav focal length but I doubt it will be soon. When 1 inch sensor was first launched some yrs back Sharp could only do a 19mm I think.

Question: I have the X100 Ultra right now. I do something funny with it. I use the main / front camera for snapping selfies so the 23mm default setting makes perfect sense for this. With 35mm I can still take these selfies with the main / front camera but I must stretch my arm out very far.

I'm thinking if I should upgrade to the X200 Ultra? Since the default will be 35mm and 50% of the photos I take are selfies at 23mm.. but of course everything else is better on the X200 Ultra. I'm especially interested in the new battery and pass through charging as that will be good for gaming, etc. The much faster chip and other things are good too.

There was a chinese video that showed the lyt900 1 inch to still have better details over the smaller lyt818 when zooming in to scrutinise, but comparison is difficult because 23mm 1 inch vs 35mm on 818. But if you are using 23mm on the x200U then the image quality on the much smaller sensor might pale compared to 23mm on ur current 1 inch x100U.

* I did some test shoots on the 1inch sensor vs a full frame on some ISO test charts some time ago, and the results though understandably inferior were still pretty good on 1 inch sensor *

Unless u are a raving concert fan or maybe into bird photography yea the kit might be over kill, i preordered both from carousell hopefully the kit becomes available soon but i will likely receive my phone 1st also Red 1TB
Agree with this.

Been thinking of getting the photog kit, but will probably pass.

Then again, concerts in Singapore quite strict about bringing pro photog equipment objects into venues that can double up as weapons. Very likely the external lens will be confiscated at entry

So, no point getting for concerts

Wonder zoom lens can bring into concerts here or not… not considered professional camera equipment right lol.
Ordered last week from Shopee red 1tb with photog kit. They tell me only tmr ship…
Unlikely to be allowed.

I hope I'm wrong, but that is why I'll probably not get the photog kit

Anyone knows where to get magsafe case for x200u?

and screen / camera protector... .
Got them from Taobao, didn’t get a MagSafe case but got a wireless 50w charger.
Unlikely to be allowed.

i think can somehow smoke them saying it’s a monocular instead of a zoom extender, of course when show your handphone put a normal casing instead of the photography kit casing first hahaha, then go in then change.

It’s not specifically mentioned monocular/binoculars not allowed

No choice can’t get accessories locally since this phone only for their own domestic market. Unless Vivo Singapore somehow bring back their flagships here again 😆

i'm a foreigner here.. all the Shopee sellers say don't need to worry about GST and there will be no additional charges / taxes. is it OK to trust them? I did buy a Vivo in Singapore earlier this year but purchased in person from a shop. this will be my first time ever ordering a costly phone using Shopee.. just want to make sure it's true that no GST at customs? I'm assuming these sellers have someone physically bring across the border? i don't understand how any of this works
