People support the PAP to govern Singapore, while they look to the Workers’ Party to provide checks and balances.

However, if the Workers’ Party ever stood even the slightest chance of forming the government, most votes would withdraw their support

This vote tally between WP and PAP paints a very interesting picture. WP is being considered on an equal footing in terms of credibility and quality against the ruling party. The results tonight also tells us that we are moving towards a two party system in Singapore. I honestly feel the small parties should just shut down their party. PSP and SDP if they do not want to risk becoming irrelevant in the local political scene will have to do much much more in attracting new blood and talents into their party.

Overall GE2025 is not a bad one for WP.
WP gains 2 NCMP seats in parliament.
Agree, that’s what I have been telling people but many people in social media have kept whining that the results tonight have been disappointing. Not true at all,

Disappointing for non-WP alternative parties. That part is true 😅

When WP becomes the incumbent, they will put in 100% hard work to keep the residents satisfied (i.e. high votes).
Where WP is contesting in PAP wards, WP performs better with high profile candidates (eg. Faisal, Michael, Eileen and Dr Ong in Tampines, and Harpreet, Alexis and Alia)

And this GE is just a small gain for WP (2 x NCMP).

Going forward, it'll likely be small incremental gains for WP each GE

I would repeat this again, WP really needs a stronger and better comms team for GE2030. Capable and young Singaporeans, please kindly consider joining WP to help shape your own future.

have to agreed on this
but some of the younger gen might switch to Opposition as they get older, loss their jobs to foreigners or cannot cope with high COL

One of my Buddies was a die-hard PAP supporter in his 20s -30s
He was in banking sector, good salary, got a nice BTO, always praised PAP

Loss his job after whole function transferred to India
Now in his 50s, he is super anti foreigner from a certain country and anti PAP.

by then alr too late...

this is encouraging...

if WP is able to continue to attract talents and expand......1 day they will definitely turn the sky bl

Yes, WP needs to work on the areas around those strong WP holds (Hougang, Aljunied, Sengkang and now Tampines, Punggol, East Coast)
But not with Pritnam Singh leading the party. The last fiasco already damaged his reputation.

It's more obvious in this election than the previous that most voters will only vote for credible oppositions, and not like some edmwers who will vote for any monkeys as long as not PAP :o

dun think so because the vote numbers dun show it.
If they want more GRC. I am also indirectly implying SG not ready for a non Chinese PM (not racists though). Matured estate like Tampines - previously the PAP vote count is high because of Mah and then later HSK. Masagos got to lead the team because he is the next most senior, but not that popular.
