Before the arrest, many Singaporeans were trying to get close to them because they wanted to get good deals from them. Not just politicians, bank RMs, celebrities, and so forth would want to meet them.

Many people do not know how lavish are their lifestyles of the Fujian members. They have so much money that they need to get rid of them. For example, one of them wanted to donate S$300K to a temple but the temple in-charge rejected citing uncomfortable with the source of fund.
