Ran 8.20 2.4km yesterday.

Did it with my old carbon plated shoes with 375km of mileage.

Weather was hot around 30C.

Attempted a 3k time trial the day before at 3.37 min/km but wasn’t satisfied so decided to run 2.4k the next day.

Not the best conditions but will take the PB.

The heavy drizzle was quite irritating.

Ran this like how I would run a 1.5k. By 1.2k, my pace start to dip significantly but that strategy worked well for me.

8:00 not possible for me now. I did run the first 1.61k at 8.05 pace before slowing down a lot. 8.10 is a possible aim but need to get new shoes and have proper rest.

Allowed, my brother bought Deviate Nitro 3 and ran 8.29 in Maju Camp on his first run with the shoes.

I have the elite nitro 2, it is not really a fast shoes. Lack the pop of a super shoes. but a good daily trainer though for short distances. Long distance if you are not the sweaty type.

Is doing HIIT running good?

My considerations are:
To build strength/leg muscles, not so much for stamina performance.

Total 35 mins inclusive of warm up 10 mins, cool down 10 mins.

Heart rate most at zone 2 and 3, short intervals zone 4.

very happy to see this VF3 in my size in us outlet. Was 110 usd after further discount. The other colourways are 189.90

Singapore cheapest ever was SGD 155. But it was only for a very short time and never returned to that price.

Bread and butter for any distance runner except ultra.

Forgot to mention that I don't wish to overstrain and causing cortisol increase. Is it too contradicting to my original goal?
Sorry, don't know much about this cortisol thing. High intensity training is usually about only 20% in volume, or session for distance runner. So it's not really that high volume. For most people is just once a week. And the rest of the week roughly 80% is only zone 2 or mixture of grey zone and zone 2 if you are training for a race.
Will this affect your cortisol goal?
