This is based on the older Marvell Aquantia AQC107.

I am using the ASUS which is based on the newer AQC113. But i had a similar issue as you.

I had to disable this for this issue to go away:
Recv Segmemt Coalescing (IPv4)
Disabling Recv Segmemt Coalescing (IPv4) does not solve the disconnect problem. I will look for a X550-T2 adatper. Thanks.

Try doing a search, i am there are solutions out there.

There is a firmware version for AQC107. Search for it, but install it at your own risk.

Try the troubleshooting steps in this Reddit, that's what i did:

Marvell, Broadcom (some) and Realtek made NICs are what I will always avoid if I could. Unless it was built-in onto the motherboard. Especially from a "production-ready" and long-term stability standpoint.

I've built countless servers/appliances/systems using NICs (non-2.5G) from Chelsio, Intel, and Mellanox, which have given me zero issues over the years. Operating systems span across different distributions of Linux, BSD (Unix), and Windows (Server).

Almost like a collector of NICs for building servers :ROFLMAO: , these are the NICs I recommend, I guess sufficient for most "home-labber" and more demanding home users.

Different flavours of variety, from left to right:

25G Mellanox ConnectX4, 10Gteck Intel X550-T2 10GbE, Femrice X520-T2 10G SFP+, Chelsio T520 Low Latency 10G SFP+

I am also running quite a few Intel X550 on my production servers 24/7. Not giving me any issue. A good buy, but beware of counterfeits!

You made my day! I tweaked the settings as suggested in the link and followed up with a stress test by running multiple torrent downloads and uploads - ZERO "Timed Out" errors for the last 30 minutes! Problem solved! Thank you so much for the link. Wishing you a great day too!

Energy Efficient Ethernet: Off
Flow Control: Off
Interrupt Moderation: Disabled
Interrupt Moderation Rate: Disabled
Jumbo Packets: 9014 (Must be configured on all switches/routers on your network + internal servers must have matching MTU. If you don't have a NAS or some type of high network capacity server on your network, don't touch this setting.)
Receive Side Scaling: Disabled

if the NIC is made by Intel (eg X540-T2), they are consider okay? the reason im asking is considering if NIC made by Intel can have Broadcom chip on it. thanks in advance

X540 runs notoriously hot. Just make sure your casing is well ventilated. Other than that, it runs stable for me. In fact, i feel it is more so than X710, which costs more.

thanks for the advice, which points me even more towards X550 for a try, after @TanKianW advice as well.

Ok.

I will still go with X550 instead of X540.
does x550 generate excessive heat? i found some modified heat sink with a fan for x540 but not for x550, dont know if that is a valid proof thay x550 is just fine with the stock heat sink

Bought a Gtek X550-T2 couples of months ago and it performed well till recently, my download speed dropped from 8000+Mbps to 4000 - 5000+mbps. Upload speed consistently remains at 7000+Mbps.

Downloaded the latest driver from Gtek and wiped clean my Windows and started fresh but the download speed is not improving. Also, I have switched the cable and ports and didn’t help. Any advice on this, a bad chip?

Not sure if it was a bad chip. Seemed more like a network and optimization issue to me. I will prefer installing the driver package from Intel directly instead of 3rd party vendors like 10Gtek.

You may also want to go into advance network configuration on Windows and disable all the offload features and jumbo frames.

If problem persist, you may want to troubleshoot your upstream network.

Thanks for your responses.

I have been troubleshooting the mediocre d/l speed for months yet remains un-resolve. Upstream looks fine since I tested with a Mac and both the d/l and u/l speeds average about 8000+ and 7000+ respectively.

While I have re-installed the Intel driver successfully, the Intel Driver and Support app would indicate the driver is outdated. The new available version is 4.2.6.0 while my installed version is 4.1.260, dated 1/6/24. When I choose to update from the app, it indicates installation failed.

Earlier, I decided to update with the Network Adapter properties and now, it is updated to version 4.1.264 dated 5/2/25. Results seem to improve though the d/l speeds are averaging between low of 5000+ to mid 6000+ now.

What are the offload feature I can disable? My jumbo frame set at 1514.

Shall monitor, move on and re-visit this thread for solutions.
