Anyone tried rough sleeping before? Most of us must have tried at least once. It was quite fun.

When young, slept overnight sporadically at the Changi Beach many times. With ah bengs, did the same at HDB void decks. At Changi Airport aircon terminal too. Ofc, army time, very common during exercises. Slept/rested in cemetery.

Last night, since markets are closed, attempted rough sleeping at a nearby park from 11.30 pm to 3 am. Humid, but breezy. Tranquil. Could see bats flying around. Pulsating stars and bright planets - must be Mars. Movement at nearby bushes, probably a stray cat. Applied repellant, so no mosquitoes. No hantu. Did not bring personal belongings, save for hdp, repellant and water. No sound of traffic as far off the main road. Opted for an angle where there are a couple of light post CCTV, just in case of robbery. Could not prolong the experience as I need to feed my pets.

I felt very calm and peaceful. Saved utility cost.
A sense of complete freedom. Was happy.

Any other nice, safe places to recommend ?

Yeah, bbfa can learn this life skill earlier.
Might be useful when their parent hdb lease is over.

i did this at atlanta airport and in paris on their street benches. it was autumn and i could not endure the coldness for extended periods so went inside a hotel and slept on a sofa in sitting position

singapore quite hard in parks during this warm period because there are lots of mosquitos. when the mosquitos fly near your bird, you might end up slamming your hand into it. they know the average person won't slam it there

Reminded me I spent 6 hrs at the entrance of Tivoli because trains to CPH airport were off service. That was many years ago. Even then, many angmo ****** approached me to sell back side. Was just 22 back then. Young and fresh, naively eatable.

Or when our glorious masters could not manage the economy, and we to each our own. Or future wartime.

Hi TS. You are not sleeping anyway. You just closing your eyes, laying there, pretending to sleep.

You will feel more tired than usual when u reached home and will Zzzz all the way.

At his stage of life, will not give up even one night for a rough sleep. Already cannot sleep properly every night . Quality sleep has become a precious commodity . When young during army, did sleep on 2 make shift chairs put together and also on top of the armoured vehicle and once on top of the 3 tonner.

I admit you are right. Tried to prolong but tough. Maybe take leutin, or zzzZZ or sleeping pills to extend hours.

Also cheated as I brought my sleeping bag. It wasn't that rough. But still "harder" than my Sealy bed. What to do. Pampered.

But will try to make it more rough next round.

Nice experience for me personally.

tbh me can't even get myself to sleep at unfamiliar places
will have that wary feeling to be out there, sleeping in the open

the what ifs ..

even at bbq outing, renting chalet w/ a proper bed & all, the discomfort still there
unless really that darn tired
