I'd first approach the existing service provider to ensure my particulars for that line is according to what it's supposed to be, before going to Eight to settle the rest.
I did exactly that send IC and email to Eight as well but still rejected.
I don't understand how can the ID mismatch when we sign up using SingPass and also provide photocopy IC is beyond logical explanation 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don't mean Eight.

Have you double-check your particulars in the system of your old service provider?

Id mismatch got many reasons? Not stated which kind, which part of id mismatch? Not just ic match ic, SingPass match SingPass. There are more than that.

I am experiencing the same issue as well, and what user said is accurate to the issue.

Issue seems to occur since last night where both DTAC and TrueMove are unable to connect to 4G network. Only 3G is available, and network seems to be unstable as well with dropout.

Would like to report that I’ve been in Thailand for almost a month, and previously there was no issues in roaming at all. I even managed to get connected to DTAC 5g network while roaming here with eight. However, as user reported, as of last night it seems that both dtac and truemove network using eight is down. Seems strange as both network are definitely working in Thailand with their respective local sim
Today my wife is in Bangkok and she told me the same issue - phone stay at 3G and data is very slow. Using iphone. on DTAC. bought a data sim in the end.

Suggest you lodge a complaint to IMDA, email info@imda.gov.sg and cc your current service provider and eight

if my plan ends today 25 May and i have bought new $8 plan to start on 26 May. I want to change the new plan to $11.80 can? If i go recharge the $11.80 will it replace the current $8 plan or it'll queue behind to start 30days from 26 May?

Update from Eight official email

Upgrades will take effect immediately (i.e. if upgrading from the Double Eight Plan to the Triple Eight Plan or Fortune Eight Plan or if upgrading the ongoing Fortune Eight Plan to the Triple Eight Plan, the ongoing plan, will be nulled immediately, and the upgraded plan will activate immediately). The ongoing plan will be forfeited, and the purchased upgraded plan will be instated immediately.

Downgrades will only kick in once the current plan expires (i.e. downgrade from the Triple Eight Plan to a Fortune Eight Plan, downgrade from the Fortune Eight Plan to the Double Eight Plan or a downgrade from the Triple Eight Plan to a Double Eight Plan).

Once you upgrade the plan before the expiry of the current plan, there is no reversal/refund of the existing plan and the upgraded plan will be charged at its full cost. Thus, if you wish to upgrade your plan, you can toggle the auto recharge feature to your preferred upgraded plan before your auto recharge kicks in for the current plan. This way, plan will only upgrade at the end of the current billing cycle.

Yes , as a customer i went down to both provider Service center just to ensure that my particulars are correct and both are correct and based on my NRIC.

Both also told me that they will inform the respective backend but still rejected. This is the 1st time I need to follow up all these paper work for number porting

If both parties don't know how to solve the issue even when all info are confirmed correct... Maybe their boss can "help". IMDA

RIP.

At this point just contact IMDA and CC whatever email contact that you can get from both Eight and the new telco.

At the very least, you still have your number, unlike someone i knew whose number ported into the void for a week with both side pushing blame to each other till IMDA was contacted.

How is it coming along? Still couldn't connect?
Thinking of heading to Thailand next month.
Still having the issue as of now. I’m not sure if eight is aware of it or whatever happened between eight and their thailand’s provider. I’m on the fortune eight plan.

But this issue only occur since yesterday. Been in Thailand since end of April no issue at all and seamless connection and switching until last night where 4g became unavailable and experiencing frequent dropout. However, it is still connected to network now although only 3g is available…

If eight is able to fix this issue, then no worries on your travel next month to Thailand haha

Seems like for Eight, not only in BKK, there's feedbacks that I saw stating that their roaming in Vietnam etc. also faces such issue IIRC.

Haven’t you noticed something about what you just wrote? You’re now celebrating your 1 month anniversary roaming in Thailand. Isn’t it possible the local carrier in Thailand enforces some sort of ”soft” demotion if you roam too long on their network (past 30 days in this case)? Seems likely! Lots of carriers have rules, often unadvertised and selective, to prevent “excessive” international roaming mostly because they (and sometimes governments) don’t want residents (or “residents“) to be using a non-local SIM.

I only arrived in Thailand yesterday and this happened. Previous trip was ok
When was the previous trip, and for how long?

We're of course speculating here, but there are many anecdotal reports that international roaming in Thailand (especially in southern Thailand) is sometimes blocked locally.
