Sometimes yes, often no. It depends on your situation. The $11.80 plan actually more worth then $8

i avoid celcom/digi. i did speedtests at city sq after celcom/digi was added and to my disappointment, it was horrible. although many raved at the new addition. digi was previously pretty good until it became celcomwent to jb city square recently.
Phone connected to celcom automatically and browser loaded slowly.
Manually connected to maxis and was much faster.
Redmi note 13 pro and xiaomi 13T on EightWhat phone are you using?
Actually I think android phones fare better on roaming, somehow.Redmi note 13 pro and xiaomi 13T on Eight
Seems odd. Just a hunch, but try disabling 2G and 3G if that setting is available in your phone. (And disable roaming while you're at it so you'll avoid hopping onto a Malaysian network if you're near the border.) It's possible your phone is latching onto another carrier's (Singtel's?) residual 3G signal.Been experiencing total loss of connection this week at many areas in Singapore (emergency calls only). Some are the usual mrt stops, no problem, but they go on for whole sections of the train ride (it picks back up very quickly at certain stops so it doesn't feel like the phone is slow). Anybody got same issue?
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 apparently hasn't received any operating system updates since August, 2022. That's a long time without any security updates. Eight didn't even exist until 2024.Also my phone is a Samsung note 9... I know it's time to change it but the current timing not convenient and if I'm just going to have the same problem on eight when I change phone, I'm gonna be really displeased![]()
Yes. Depending each individual needs.Sometimes yes, often no. It depends on your situation.
I don't see why not.for the top up amount in eight app can we top up any amount down to the cent?
E.g i have balance 11, can i top up 80cents?
I faced similar problem in Thailand earlier. The solution that worked for me was to change the preferred network to 3G. My preferred network was LTE and had the same problem when i arrived at thailand last week. On/off airplane mode will have network for a few second than it will be down. I tried all method of troubleshooting and finally manage to have a stable network after setting the preferred network to 3G. The problem lasted for 2 days before i can set back the preferred network to LTE. You can try to see if this solution work for youi was in shanghai last mth. everytime i made payment with wechat/ alipay, i had to on/ off airplane mode.
maybe just me.![]()

next time i will try with 3g and see if its better.seems like eight is now competing with simba to see who can attain lower speeds.Very slow data speed in the train at Newton, Novena, Toa Payoh mrt stations. Anyone facing the same?
