in all fairness, this is an official event of sorts
not visiting a residential area, waving at residents

at least get decently dressed to receive the guest

not some tee shirt w/ print, while wearing a cap :/

but as for the handshake, an err on her part
not an excuse, just maybe taken aback at the first receiver, so adamant to hold her hand :o

🤷‍♂️

If these are the reasons for her behavior and reaction to the situation, then she deserves to only stay in the sheltered kitchen, she is not ready to handle the real world out there despite the floral resume.:o

Imo, for the Lao Uncle to wear t-shirt in print is ok in that situation and context. Because he is part of the congregation of performing troupe. People just dress their part in the event.

In sports event, do you mean the participants in t-shirt and shorts are inappropriately dressed to shake hands with any appointed VIP in that event? And VIPs would react the way she did? And by the way, sports events are also not visiting any residential area.:o

There was Lao Ah Ma, who kissed and hug Shanmugam, and how he reacted? in this case, this Lao Uncle just outstretched both his hands indicating an offer for a welcoming handshake (there are handshakes with both hands), pale in comparison to the aforementioned adamant enthusiasm. And don't tell us she is a female that's why she reacted the way she did.

If so, just stay in the sheltered kitchen.:o

i didn’t know the role of mp is shaking hands one
:ROFLMAO:

A handshake is a significant form of nonverbal communication that can create a strong first impression, establish trust, and set the tone for interactions. It can be particularly important in professional settings like job interviews, where a firm, confident handshake can signal professionalism and confidence

This firm handshake thing is so well known and overused that it has lost its significance already. :o

It is the comments that I gathered from the videos.
Seems like he is their boss.
I guess he also want some piece of the VVVVVVIP.
Who dun want to rub shoulders with them ?
If he is some random stranger, I guess the men in white shirt would have shoo him off liao.

I think they have to employ some entourage to put up some crowd barriers for their VVVVIP next time.
The organizer need to intro the people properly to the VVVVVIP first before the handshake.

Next we might see some MPs warmly and most eagerly shaking hands, if not embracing wet market hawkers who have just descaled fish, chopped up some pork or chicken … just to refute the prevailing negative optics. :s13:

A sincere handshake involves genuine eye contact, a firm but not overly strong grip, and a slight smile or other positive facial expression. It's about conveying warmth, respect, and engagement with the other person. The handshake should be brief, lasting about two to four seconds, and you should disengage after three seconds to avoid making the other person uncomfortable
