so envious to have av HR above 180 :ROFLMAO:
Last time I used to be higher, I never limit myself. But after I started runs with my colleagues previously, they told me to limit and slow down if heart rate too high and not good.

Last time I always can get maximum heart rate of 210. Average 190. But now need to start limit liao, don't want faint. Haha

the younger one is, the higher one's HR can go during intensive exercise.
My previous comments was a comment of my envy of your age.

Second run of the week. Early in the morning 6.30am.

5.55km in 42min.
Avg Cadence: 154
Max Cadence: 170
Avg Pace: 7.38/km

Actually what is Cadence used for?
Number of steps per minute.

Generally two kinds of runners

High cadence runner
High strider runner

Best combo is both high haha.

try Bishan Park & Upper Thomson Road
went to bishan park a few times recently too, i noticed each time i ran there, there are quite a number of strong runners, i am slow but these guys just fly past me.

wil try upper thomson, didn't go initially because it always looks crowded.

Yeah tell me abt that, on the phone while cycling or listening to headpones then not able to ride predictably in a straight line. Can spot from a mile away coz not riding in a straight line and you better give a wide berth.

Also rather dangerous if no skills to ride and not keeping left or like taking up 3 aside to chit chat (max i have come across is 4 abreast at Bay East Garden). Got into so many close calls with the Anywheels. And with no lights / some rather dim lights you dont even know they are there until the very last moment as bikes are silent, then if put bluetooth speaker then some might not like (but srsly bo bian). But the squeaky ones are still ok, can hear. 🤣

Then of coz there are also runners/walkers doing the same, once got 4 walkers on the cycling path @ Bay East Garden. Both side bicycle traffic need to get onto the running path to overtake.
Another dangerous situation is if runners running against direction flow dressed in black and with black complexion on the Cart/Cycling lane instead of the running path (actually even if 0.5m past the running/cycling demarcation lane still ok and safe since the cart/cycling path is wide enough). Quite prevalent @ Bay East Garden and ECP where there are dedicated lanes.
So it's like a jungle out there.
Why walking cannot single row and keep left? Need bann walking of side by side in pcn and pavement...

Ohh. What is your average HR when running?
really depends on the purpose of my runs.
If i am running blindly without care of anything or simply going all out, normally 150+/- and max at approx. 170+/-
nowadays I focus more on keeping my HR <130 to build up my base and slowly go back to once a week HIIT but weather isn't helping much tho

my bad, i was referring to Bishan Park + Old Upper Thomson Road. Old Upper Thomson Road shouldn't be crowded, or perhaps its about timing. I used to do my runs there very early in the morning before the sun is up, starting from East side of Bishan Park to around Old Upper Thomson Park Connector. Old Upper Thomson Road is nice as there are some slopes but super strenuous. After the runs there, you can take a walk at Lower Pierce Reservoir Park or reward yourself with Prata @ Casuarina Curry.
You don't have to think too much about people flying past you. When I do my recovery HR paces and zone 2s, ladies always fly pass me. Don't let such things bother you. Just run at your own pace and focus in your breathing.

I can't keep heart rate that low. When I start running for first 200m, my heart rate already in 140. Then at around 1km, already at 160. In matter of time, easily 170 to 180 at 7min pace.

How can I keep heart rate that low between 150 and 170?

I think if you starting out as a runner, just run base on RPE. your HR unlikely to be in steady state and very hard to control even if you feel it's easy.
So just run easy base on feel, and that will likely brings you to do more than 30 minutes session at least without burning out. Coz thre important thing is you run, not walk. Specificity matters, you want the muscle that makes you run be stimulated for adaptation.

I'll try next run. Cos when run, always will automatically pick up pace when I run. Its like something pushing me to go faster.
Same here, but i've noticed improvements where my avg HR lowers over time on the same route , same pace.
Then I started picking up the pace again which will raise that HR and the cycle continues. Don't know where's the peak yet.

Usually I run within 140bpm. I will stop running when I see 150 bpm, then just walk until it drops within 120bpm.

HR is just one of the indicator of your effort during that run and got to remember everyone zones HR are different. I got a relatively low max HR so my zone 2 HR is like 120+ to low 130.
