I engaged a few times. Weekend rate more expensive. Nurse stayed for over an hour during weekend to clean and teach me. Came up to $200 plus. Weekday rate cheaper $100 plus range. But your case might be different- as mine is wound cleaning rates. I won’t know how they classify your case as. You go to their website to see their full range of services and rates. It’s transparent.

Both homage and jaga me does include preparing meals. But not sure if it means cooking. Need to ask them.

I don't think you have experienced this so please do not call the helper useless. Most edmwers are male and once they are immobile , they will weight even more heavy. The helper may not be able to lift a female patient, let alone a male one.

I hired from Active global. They aren't domestic help but caregivers. Basically she takes care of medical, physical needs and meals. independent enough as she could take her charge to and from medical appointments by grab (wheelchair) when I was away. She keeps a medical journal too so the doctor can refer to it as needed

Another option for you to explore, if private nursing too expensive. I’m also not sure if transitional care facility like crawfurd hospital will be cheaper. Since the hospital already discharged you, can’t get them to facilitate the transition for you. So you need to contact the crawfurd hospital and explain and see if you can get yourself admitted there. See what they say.

If want to move to wheelchair commode, must buy a body carrier lifter. Saw most of these can be bought from shoppee, etc
Male or female immobiles , you will find the bottoms are the heaviest concentrations, and their arms and legs are too weak to hold or steady themselves - experienced before liao

Btw, I'm female.
Broke my right shoulder. Had a replacement done.
Not supposed to move my shoulder for 4 months.
Then after that probably physio for that part. Someone said he took a year to fully recover when he broke his shoulder

I don't think an hour or few hours per day is sufficient for me. I'm totally dependent.
I won't even be able to get up and walk to the door to let her in. My walk is still unsteady, I walk a few steps, then grab furniture/ doorframe. Where there isn't any of that, I don't proceed further
Helper has to hold me. Even getting out of bed, I need help. I can sit up in bed, but need help getting out of bed ( partly cos too short, feet can't reach floor. Also still a bit dizzy ).
Among other problems.

Was walking along corridor at an HDB block opposite Chi Yuan ( not sure of spelling) community centre
Suddenly there was a raised ridge at 90° to the corridor. Didn't notice it . Tripped and fell
Don't understand why that ridge is there. I don't think it's a ramp for any purpose .

Call hospital hotline,? And ask for who?

Will explore in future. Not sure how much those will help. Nursing home seemed the best case choice.

There's a possibility that I might need one ( but not just one day).
How to go about getting one, especially if at short notice?

Yes. Only those who experienced will know. Many edmwers talk big like their $700 paid to the helper very big means they expect the helper is wonder woman.

I learned something when I was in hospital.
There is a Senior Moblity Fund that the hospital, (or even certain shops) can apply for the patient.
Someone i know bought a geriatric chair and a commode from Rehab mart. They did the processing for her. I bought a chair from Rainbow via the hospital. Highly subsidised.

yes, you better call the hospital you discharged from asap,
likely to stay in their Community Hospital for some time using Medisave. You must cooperate with them for physio and exercises, otherwise will go downhill very fast for those who fell down.

I'm doing at home 3x per day. Each time, i do more repetition than they tell me to.
But they are only for my legs and lower arm. Can't do anything else for time being.
I hold on to the rail of my bed ( bought a hospital bed delivered the day before op. Cos my bed and mattress were much too high. )
I do hope they can get me into community hospital. (They had said cannot)

Follow physio's instructions.

Ask the physio the max number of reps you can do.

Over doing may cause more harm than good (my sis over did and harmed herself more after a knee cap surgery).

Thanks for advice.
My physio doesn't affect the part of the op.
That part must not do any movement for 4 months

Get off my bed, go pee ,poop, clean up. Feed ( unless porridge or soup) etc
Can advise me how to get this permission , and how get source of such helper? Did hospital help ?

Go to a AIC office to talk to them, I had to send my mum for 2 weeks when I have to go for a surgery. But know in advance when is your date you need to send and for how long.
