Yes ST and Eight on same phone. Recently went to Nepal and used Simba (had ST and Simba in same phone). I did not use ST and did not network lock ST and I was charged $500+ (before negotiating down to $30)....I don't want to happen the same in future..

Turn off ST (eSIM) or remove ST sim card. You will not be able to fully disable data roaming on your ST line if you still want malaysia roaming. Even using your ST line solely for receiving SMS OTP overseas will incur some data usage.

Safest way to prevent such recurrence is to turn off your ST if you do not need it to e.g. receive OTP/calls etc.
Otherwise, there might still be leakage that result in charges too, speaking from experience.

As in turn off data roaming for ST sim in phone will do?

Previously with SH and I always turn off data roaming for SH sim only while using traveller sim, never encountered other charges.

No, turn off the ST SIM completely to be on the safe side.
But yes, turning off data roaming should be sufficient.

Turning off data roaming on the phone is not enough.

For Singtel, have to turn off data roaming (Network) to be safe.

When I travel, I want to use the eSIM that I bought from Shopee, because it is cheaper.

I onboarded the eSIM and switched that to data only while my primary line is for calls.

For my primary line ie my number, I turned off data roaming for that SIM.

Went to South Korea and still kenna some overseas data usage charges.

Called Singtel when I came back and they reversed the charges.

They told me have to turn off data roaming at their end too to be sure.

So if you have the Singtel App on your iPhone, Open the App.

Under Home -> Play details -> Settings (the gear icon) -> Data Roaming (Network)

I went to South Korea again doing that and did not encounter the same problem anymore.

I am using circles life and other line waiting for sim to arrive and port in to MyRepublic, if simba successfully buy m1, which is the best solution for me to port out to or stay as it is?

I will avoid SIMBA. They are basically TPG. When I lived in Australia for a period of time TPG is one of the worst telco. Singtel’s Optus was one of the best.

Was at Raffles Place for NDP celebration last night and my $15 SOP was buttery smooth. 95% SA 5% NSA. Can upload download social media stuffs easily and no buffer. Didn't get their video express pass this time round. On other hand, my secondary line on eight telecom went dead like no signal lol.

We cheapo SOP 5G+ users are not missing out 'priority' at all...

Wow. I am tempted to go back to Singtel in this case.

When was that? Coz my Aussie friends all avoid Optus except for one. And yes, he's always complaining about having bad connection.

Just renew to the $15.28/mth SIM ONLY plan, previously was using the $20.48/mth. I send in the request early despite my plan officially end on 9 Oct 2025 but SingTel approve it. Next year around this period which is the 10th month will try again if there is better deal.

I managed to recontract $15.28/mth plan for 12 months. Like you will try for better deals after 10 months or so!

Just did the recontract as well through the link. The new plan has just been activated today. I was using the S$20.37 plan previously.

There is a glitch this time though. I received an SMS saying the service agreement had been sent on Monday. However, I could not find the service agreement in my email. I could not find the service agreement through MySingtel app either.

I had to use WhatsApp SingTel channel to confirm with SingTel yesterday.

Why did you port out? Cost or connection?

Both. Until I realised the coverage really has a massive difference after porting out. Singtel has better connectivity since the 5G+ update.

I must admit, the 5G signal is better after I upgraded the Singtel SIM card. I suppose, the new SIM card supoorted 5G+ because my old SIM card do show 5G on my phone but signal is definitely not as good as now in the same places where I encounter signal degradation before using the same Samsung S24 phone. In another words, with the new 5G SIM card, the signal is better than before.

Which is only for Seniors thus, most wil go on the SOP plans instead.
