I think MOE teachers are discussing among themselves why their leaders or politician are keeping quiet

It is what it is.. thanks to the many unreasonably demanding parents nowadays, MOE and it's school staff have become soft... During my time, I've never heard parents threaten to sue the school and caning was quite common... 羊毛出在羊身上。Now, people try to act tough and demand bullies to be caned...but if they are their children, they will wack MOE saying that caning is child abuse...how??? So, it is what it is... Thanks to the parents for this kind of education system to have evolved through the years....

so who is to say the previous generation schooling methods are better?

Hahahaha ... They belong to the new generation lah (a very good example of the success or failure of this new education system)... I did not mention about the "previous" generation.... and the word "evolve" means it take a few generations to come to the current state. Please revisit my comment.

I think only the people outside the system are making a hooha. In school, things continue as per normal.

1. Case reported
2. DM interviews and records the statements of the students.
3. DM presents the case to school leaders and relevant staff to discuss the consequences.
4. Relevant staff inform the parents of the consequences.
5. Students serve the consequences and receive counselling
6. Life goes on.
