Saw the VIVIFI Roam Asia Super plan. Pay S$15/mth for 3 months and the next months are free only if u port in from another telco. It also says Free 5G access, but there were not other details on this. I wonder if this includes 5G network permanently as long as we stick to them. If so, this seems to be quite a good deal. Its essentially paying S$45 for 12 months which works out to be about S$3.75 per month for a 5G line.

Am I missing out on anything?

yes. free 9 months is only if you port in from circles.Life mystery telco. Pay 3 months of $15 and next 9 months free. The 5G will be perm free and it's 5G SA for this plan, instead of the previous 5G NSA

Fight in what sense? Data given? coverage?
advantage:
1) more data monthly (388GB) but to be honest, not a deal breaker yet since vivifi also gives free sufficient data monthly and they also give free roaming data to be used in bolehland.
2) 10GB APAC roaming data - which can be quite useful, covers thailand, indonesia, taiwan etc.
3) can make calls for free in most APAC countries during roaming, no matter incoming or outgoing, includes making local calls in roaming countries which i find it unbeatable.

disadvantage:
1) eight data roaming experience is not good comparing to vivifi in bolehland. vivifi i was connected to maxis (4G/5G) all the time. while my friend on eight, same spot get only EDGE.

Up to you to choose. You prefer buffet that promise you good food but you can’t eat when you reached there. Or you prefer lesser food choice but sure can eat when you are there.

Data plans have gone to a level where most won’t utilise fully every month. It has become a feel good factor of having more is better.

You used esim? Is it instant? For physical sim I googled they say it takes 1-2 days even tho the instructions says "before 6pm port in will be completed by 11pm to 4am same day" isit?

No, this line I opted for physical sim, SIM card arrived, activated before 6pm on the day, next day line is ready for use in the morning. No drama. Everything smooth.
