That’s largely the entirety of today’s news. However, here’s a bit of additional data:

Meanwhile, Nintendo says it “is also considering establishing a local entity in the Kingdom of Thailand to accelerate its business.” However, no specific announcements have been made at this time.

Not necessarily good news for us. Currently, sg switch users have a variety of eshops to choose to buy their games from because we don't have a eshop region for sg. Currency fluctuates, so sometimes one region cheaper than another. If they establish a sg eshop, it could result in higher prices (along with no longer being able to buy from other regions) than even the US and Australia, including physical carts. Imagine a 70 usd game going for 99 sgd here. That's what some AAA companies are charging for sg on steam.

:(

AI Overview

The rights to the
Pokémon franchise are jointly controlled by three companies: Nintendo, Game Freak, and Creatures Inc.. These three original owners came together to create The Pokémon Company, a joint venture that manages the brand's business operations, licensing, and marketing globally.
The structure of ownership
  • Nintendo: As the original publisher of the Pokémon video games, Nintendo owns the trademarks to the Pokémon name and characters. It is also responsible for publishing the main video games exclusively on its consoles. Nintendo holds a 32% ownership stake in The Pokémon Company.
  • Game Freak: The developer of the core Pokémon video games. Co-founded by Satoshi Tajiri, the franchise's creator, Game Freak is responsible for the creative direction and development of the main series role-playing games.
  • Creatures Inc.: This company, founded by Tsunekazu Ishihara, is responsible for producing the Pokémon Trading Card Game and developing certain spin-off titles. Creatures also creates the 3D models and animation used in the games.
The role of The Pokémon Company
The Pokémon Company acts as the central hub for the franchise and is owned by Nintendo, Game Freak, and Creatures Inc.. It is responsible for:
  • Brand management and marketing.
  • Licensing the property to other developers and manufacturers, including mobile game developers like Niantic for Pokémon Go.
  • The international management of the brand is handled by a subsidiary, The Pokémon Company International.
