Maybe using tactics to get people to switch over to more expensive 5G plans.

Same tactic used by singtel minions to disable 5G NSA from those who enjoyed over 1 year of "free" 5G
Either switch over or Harry Potter?

Existing 18$ package users will get 5G provisioned soon, likely batch by batch

  • I’m on the Triple Eight plan — will 5G start immediately, or only from my next renewal?
Great news — Beginning 16 October 2025, your 5G access will activate automatically — as long as you’re on one of our 5G-eligible plans, using a 5G-capable device, and located in 5G coverage.

Yes. Both Maxx and Starhub shares the same 5G networks. There is literally no difference.
M1 and StarHub have a joint venture that operates a combined 5G network. Mobile tower locations and spectrum are shared. The respective carriers may manage subscriber priorities differently, and they still maintain separate 4G networks (which you mentioned). There can still be some differences, even on 5G.
There is only 2 5G networks in Singapore, Singtel and Antina.
SIMBA also operates a 5G network in Singapore.

Fact or Fiction? :s11:

AI Overview

In Singapore, the telcos with their own dedicated 5G networks include Singtel, StarHub, and M1, with SIMBA (which is in the process of acquiring M1) also owning its own 5G spectrum and network infrastructure after its acquisition of M1, giving it the ability to provide its own 5G services.

Telcos with their own 5G networks:
  • Singtel: Operates its own dedicated 5G network and has strong 5G coverage.

  • StarHub: Owns and operates its own 5G network.

  • M1: Has its own advanced telecommunications network, including 5G infrastructure.

  • SIMBA: Holds full 4G and 5G spectrum rights, allowing it to build and operate its own 5G network infrastructure.
What this means for you:
  • Full 5G Experience:
These operators provide a true 5G experience, not reliant on other companies' networks.

  • Network Control:
Having their own network gives them greater control over coverage, speed, and reliability.

  • Coverage and Performance:
You can expect 5G coverage and performance directly from these operators, which can vary from network to network.

Simi AI? Need to use 2 or 3 AI to compare. Haha.

So i was using eight 5G on downtown line.
some parts before reaching a station, my youtube reels jz stopped playing. And when the train stopped at a station, it started playing again. Some parts totally cannot load. But minor though.

Overall, zym is still more stable though. Eight 5G kinda patchy in some areas.

I will observe again tmr. I will not be using speedtest, i will use real-life usage scenario.

5G...

If $14.80 from Eight, I might as well stick to ST $15+, unless traveling.

If say pay up year-long access, who knows what patterns coming up before the year is up. Not forgetting they tend to stinge until they meet Harry Potter.

Those who paid $8 or $11.80 upfront are now stuck with them, no? Unless treat as donation...

If $11.80 from Eight, sticking to Maxx or maybe Harry Potter... unless not traveling with line.

Wait, where to stick Simba?

Hmm...

Donation? Aiyo why say like dat lar

I use Eight mainly when across the bridge. 5G or not doesn’t matter. And I definitely won’t pay $6.80 more just for 5G. ;)
Some will donate out of desperation to leave. :o

Ya, $6.80 enough to get another line somewhere else.

Those fans a few months ago, I don't see them in HWZ mobile thread much nowadays

I'll keep lookout for 10.10 top-up promo. eight and SIMBA usually runs these bonus promo on major sale dates.

As well as the upcoming The Tech Show end of October and Black Friday next month.

Hopefully we'll see 1 for 1 offers again :ROFLMAO:

I'll still keep a line or 2 (to lend out) especially for traveling. The rest will donate though not much $ left coz their 4G just doesn't work for me. Data-only in iPads, so Maxx would be my choice here and abroad, if not Simba.
