Submitted my 2XU timing for HM Standchart Pen A but was rejected.

Have to start from Pen B instead.. will be an uphill battle to fight through the crowd to get to my race pace o_O
All athletes who provide proof of having completed a World Athletics or National Federation-sanctioned half marathon race within the qualifying window period, with a time of 1hr 45mins 00sec, or less, will remain in Pen A. Those who do not meet this requirement will be allocated to the next available pen.

No idea what is considered national federation-sanctioned.

Speedy recovery. It is down time like this that really hit hard on the fitness you have gained over time.

Can’t wait for my pair.Scheduled to arrive by today according to TB haha.

Anyway,I took the plunge and bought another hypershoe Dowin PB Pro. Likely to be my SCSM HM shoe of choice.
I thought u were doing the full marathon haha.

for Singapore, National Federation should be SA sanctioned races. Other than SCSM, which is WA sanctioned, I don't think there's another SA sanctioned HM here. 10km or 5km have a few for their athletes meets.

2XU, for the last two year hoohaa for their shorten distance, make sense why SCSM insist on sanctioned race as proof. So does Boston Qualifying. Make sure is a WA sanctioned race, or else waste money.

His weekly mileage is more than good enough for full marathon.
Haha but training wise, not intended for full marathon. Got to break my sub 40 10k and sub 90 HM first in order for me to consider preparing for a full marathon.

But Pen A and Pen B not much diff la. I started 2023 SCSM HM at Pen C and find it ok and that was with the marathon people as well.

Most people will f it up for the first 2km aka going too fast for their own good. I used to do that but over time,I tone down a lot already haha

SCSM runners, race guide is out. Check the refueling station, 13.3km , 22.3km and 34.1km. Looks like this year gel is Saurus Aminosaurus. 25g carbs...
Can carry 3 less gel if this brands suits you. I might get a couple to test my stomach tolerance .

Same, always start a few second slower than target pace. This year Income ECO run was slowed down by the front waves, and it doesn't impact me. Infact I find weaving thru a crowd expanse more energy than necessary. The reserved energy saved from the slow start will compensate with a negative split surge at later stage.

Scary sia. What do you mean, you tried to roll off from the lights with your left leg?

You into S&C, plyo? Not say full on Mike mentzer HIITs cum Sprinters' kinda crazy weights/band work and plyo. But really need to be doing conscientiously for at least a good few months type.

It alters biomechanics and favours more of a forefoot strike (it's bascially negative drop). Literally no cushioning vs our regular thicc stuff.

You changing to shorter stuff? I find 3k quite interesting....so much so that past 6 mths i not even interested in 5k. (my race distance is 4k and 6k, for T100 standard distance duathlon ) I dont have the speed for what...400s, 800s.
SITs 75m just trying to look pro and aura farm out there nia. 🤣 (ok lah, still got neuromuscular benefits esp for mid age folks)

for me sub 4min pace is definitely forefoot strike.
tried the spike at home (with the spikes removed of course). not much diff under foot to the racing flats that I am used to.
