ok, thanks mate.

gg.com to me then. HSBC still tells me they didn't receive request deduction from UOB yesterday when I chatted with them.

I wonder if I'm gonna be charged by both sides (UOB and HBSC) eventually for failed GIRO deduction...
charged by uob

Yes, you will be penalised by both sides: UOB for insufficient funds to pay their bill and HSBC - no rebate!

big amount?
best to cancel the giro arrangement now that is worthless worse a liability.
yeah, I've applied to switch to UOB eGIRO to pay own UOB card. since no more rebate/cashback from 1 Nov from HSBC for GIRO transactions.

how long it will take to stop giro? who to go to? And would it be immediate or next cycle?

Haha can't believe UOB rejected fee waiver even though I have been clocking more than 500sgd consistently for many years and no late payment. Gonna cancel the card and deposit account.

Yes, because no callback for online waiver request. So I called to check status. Was told it was rejected. I told CSO I won't use the card and will cancel before due date . She even ask me if I want to cancel now. What can I still say, she is more eager than me to cancel my card.

Look like more and more cases from most banks, started with HSBC and SCB and now even local banks. The Credit Card business may be too competitive ....

I mean what are they looking for? I'm using the UOB one card as they promoted it. If they need min 2k spend per mth, they shd set the conditions as such, then I won't even apply.

technically what they are looking for is technically for people to pay the annual fees lor since waiver is out of goodwill and never guaranteed unless there's a stated criteria or there is no AF

Their loss is other banks gain. This is my main card and I had been diligently spending more than $500 (now $600) for years. I will cancel too if they don't grant my upcoming annual fee waiver.

idk why banks need to charge customers annual card fees. already using their card to give them business... promote their bank... up their publicity, still want to charge us fees.

worse is the fees are like increasing like inflation. last time annual fees are below $100. now? almost $200.

idk how many people really diligently pay annual fees... with all the perks of being a 'new' card applicant (after 12 months) there's no incentive to be 'loyal' to the bank, still want to PAY the bank to use their credit card? doesn't make sense...

I think a couple of banks have cards which are free for life. CIMB is one of them I think.

if UOB also refuses to waive for me next cycle I'll also cancel (without even considering).
