So i manage to link my Youtrip to my Wechat. I also completed the verification using my passport and etc...which Weixin Pay text me everything is ready.
It will be good to register Alipay too. U can only test in China.

Happened to me twice. Once in Kunming, I was using my wechat pay happily and suddenly I could not pay and there was a msg asking me for the verification again and it took 1 day plus before I could use wechat pay.

Last trip to GZ, was using Alipay instead and same happened, asking for verification and after a day, could use again.

Yes, this is the typical verification hiccup faced by most.
Best to always have both WCPay & APay setup for contingency.

Apart from verification. It is necessary to have both Alipay and WeChat Pay. Some vendors, have only WeChat QR code and it might not work with Alipay scanner, as both aren't interlink with one another and works independently.

Yuppp, that is correct too. Always recommended to have both that's for sure.

When I was in Xi'an....some vendors have a consolidated QR Code with Union Pay, AliPay, WeChatPay etc

I used TnG in Xi'an to pay. I play2 with DBS Paylah! & OCBC's apps to assess their usage, without actually completing the transactions.

OCBC & TnG were fine but there were a few QR Codes that didn't work for them too - I don't know why.

DBS Paylah! is like 100% cannot use, maybe because it only caters to Union Pay & there was like no Union Pay QR Code available...I didn't see any at all during my week stay.

I think OCBC accepts Union Pay too.

You can use your DBS Paylah!, OCBC, TnG etc apps (except AliPay & WeChatPay I think so) to play2 with these QR Codes, even though you are still in SG. At least you will have another options.

Never used this one. How popular is this one? Does the street vendors support this one?
My experience in Xi'an, I didn't see any Union Pay QR Code. DBS says its Paylah! app caters to Union Pay QR Code.

I rather not put too much faith in Union Pay because of its lack of QR Code availability & inefficiency of Paylah! app.

Yeah, UnionPay - 云闪付 is rare to come by.

erm.. i want to check 2 things...
1.) i just create a Alipay account and link my Youtrip card to it as well. i tried using it to pay for something in SG and payment is unsuccessful. Does it means it is the same as Wechat pay, can only test it out in China?
2.) i manage to purchase something in Taobao using the Wechat pay (link to Youtrip). Does it mean is confirm can use in China?
Sorry ah, abit panic coz need to travel soon then like feel very lost >_<

go into alipay / wechat settings and find the "Verify yourself" button.
as long as you verify with passport & selfie beforehand, you will be very safe for usage in China.

just make sure your SG mobile has roaming to receive SMS OTP in case card linked requires re-OTP during use in China.
