Shout to all the pacers from running department. They really work so hard going to ECP to run early morning clocking in the appropriate long runs. They need to clock certain % of attendance in order to be a pacer. Really not easy.
My friend is in the 4.00 FM pace group, tag along with him if you are going for <4.00. He is 3.2x FM runner overseas. Jiayou all!!
I think Singapore races tend to be quite busy. I am planning to go Taiwan next month for HM race. It's only 3.5k runners for the event. So, hopefully can go for a good time. I highly recommend if you want to set fast times, can do it overseas. But great run nonetheless with the conditions.
Grats on your performance, I remembered that's my time for my AHM HM debut. I cramped out during the run at the end. It's tough to run a good time in Sg and despite that, you managed to do well. Go for it and try for sub 1:40 next year.
4 lower limit might be realistic, if long run mileage isn't high, then it goes downhill from there. I averaging 70km weeks but my long runs are 20+k max. Not even mid 20km, I feel very comfortable running 5.00 min/km HM but beyond that, my legs will probably get fried or cramp from lack of adaptation. After my HM, I will start the marathon block!
Shaun Goh will definitely have good scaling, because overall weekly mileage is already very high. His long run isn't as high because he does doubles. But should be easily <3 hr. Let's see his SEA games performance this time round, might give a good idea whether he will move up to the marathon.
Considering he is still <30 next year, probably not?
