Ok guys,see you later from Pen F again. Got free bib to run lmao.

Let’s see if 3.30 is possible from Pen F. 5 mins/km pace should be doable despite my lack of training for FM
Wow . All the best to you !
U know Shaun goh. He ran 1st and 2nd marathon over 4 hours as he didn't prepare well for it ..of coz that was way many years ago in 2016 2017.

Yeah but I think Shaun Goh is not a marathon guy but he can easily do sub 3 or better if he want to la haha.

I set a very modest target already and it’s the dreaded Pen F again. Just hope today will be better

Flag off is at 4.30am So dumb question. What time reach to clear security? I live like 5mins away and wife has agreed to drop me off. shxx... totally lost now :ROFLMAO:
suppose to do a long run 25-27k tomorrow anyway.. so will treat it as such... now what pace... or should I adopt a just finish in one piece mentality

Looking at your HM timing, it should be doable. But you are carrying some fatigue from today’s run

Quite fast to clear security. D won’t flag off at 4.30. If you want to start at the front of the Pen,then need camp early Loh. Think 4 am pen open.

Not the best person to advise since I don't do marathons. But for a sudden event, I'd just finish and enjoy the moment. Fast timing is a bonus.

All the best to you guys! 👍

Virgin race. Take it as LSD but with drink stations. Remember around 34km aid station to jam as much gels as you can in your pocket as freebies for future use.

@Ender

They have a 4:00 pace group. Maybe can follow.

@xllms @Tudo88 thanks. Thought @Tudo88 running half?

@winningeleven if you running, take it easy. Don’t aggravate your injury.
Shout to all the pacers from running department. They really work so hard going to ECP to run early morning clocking in the appropriate long runs. They need to clock certain % of attendance in order to be a pacer. Really not easy.

My friend is in the 4.00 FM pace group, tag along with him if you are going for <4.00. He is 3.2x FM runner overseas. Jiayou all!!
Oh my,underestimated the congestion at later pens hahaha.

The issue arises when they divided the road into two parts. Absolutely no way to navigate. I think only Pen A and B can make it if you want to achieve certain timing.

I think Singapore races tend to be quite busy. I am planning to go Taiwan next month for HM race. It's only 3.5k runners for the event. So, hopefully can go for a good time. I highly recommend if you want to set fast times, can do it overseas. But great run nonetheless with the conditions.
Great run Tudo88. Now you qualify for Pen A next year.

I buang after the 10km mark after vomitting 3 times including the gels I took. Pace went downhill after that.

still finished with 1:41:17. Not the best.. but I glad I didn’t give up though. Sub 1:40 gonna wait next year.
Not much congestion at pen b surprisingly. Didn’t spend much effort to cut through the crowd also (but went too fast 😪)
Grats on your performance, I remembered that's my time for my AHM HM debut. I cramped out during the run at the end. It's tough to run a good time in Sg and despite that, you managed to do well. Go for it and try for sub 1:40 next year.
Haha, got many others also doing same combo also. The guy I took over from, he got injured from his 21km.

Experience my virgin marathon. 3.30 upper limit , 4 lower limit.
4 lower limit might be realistic, if long run mileage isn't high, then it goes downhill from there. I averaging 70km weeks but my long runs are 20+k max. Not even mid 20km, I feel very comfortable running 5.00 min/km HM but beyond that, my legs will probably get fried or cramp from lack of adaptation. After my HM, I will start the marathon block!

Shaun Goh will definitely have good scaling, because overall weekly mileage is already very high. His long run isn't as high because he does doubles. But should be easily <3 hr. Let's see his SEA games performance this time round, might give a good idea whether he will move up to the marathon.

Considering he is still <30 next year, probably not?

Yes. I rmb reading about being a pacer for last year’s scsm though I would only try to pace half. Couldn’t commit to the attendance.

also according to Subas Instagram. He wanted to run his marathon debut here at scsm but they didn’t want to give him elite as he had not clocked a marathon time. He will debut marathon next year
