No more running shoes for me as well. Hope i can tahan and not buy any in the first half of 2026. I have 5 pairs non-plated & 1 pair plated running shoes that clocked at ard 100km or less. Need to utilise them more before buying. My 400+km Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 & 200+km Adidas Adios Pro 3 are still in great shape and bouncing well. Can’t justify buying more shoes until I retire the top 4 shoes on my list. Likely retiring QD PB 5.0 already. Current injury might be due to the shoe also. Next 2 weeks will be solely on Novablast 5 so easily can rack up maybe 100km mileage on it.

79yo lao uncle HM PB @1:49! http://xhslink.com/o/10nCMav4mCBme as a slow uncle halfway to centurion, often gets zipped past by girls of various age goups in the parks along the bund stretch. There are so many fast runners here in SH along especially where i live and do my runs.
1) in one of the weekends morning earlier this year along westbund, i was doing a slow LSD run approx. at 7min/km pace when a group of fully geared up 3 good-looking ladies (sunglasses, running tights and top, high compression socks, top notch running shoes from western/jap brands) overtook me as they chatted with each other along the way.
2) there is this uncle in his 70s, will film his runs daily and cruise along at around 6min/km pace while everyone who recognise him will wave at him to greet him
3) It gets worse if one runs much earlier, eg. before sunrise, or just before end of office hours till into the evenings, the real enthusiasts are out there running, many of them cruise effortlessly at 5min/km pace or faster
4) on weekend mornings, there is this stretch at 黄浦滨江, with a stretch of roads that serves as a circuit for some of the best runners in shanghai for their workouts. One can search 苗江路 which is famous here in the marathon scene. Most of the long runs (easily go beyond 30km) are done below 4min/km pace throughout. Some will do their fast intervals there as there are 3 circuits to cover (1.35km/1.85km/2.7km per lap). Won't surprise me if someone there outruns SRY.
This is just one part of SH. There are many more similar places with plenty of running talents, eg. bund stretch on pudong side, 世纪公园, various stretches of the Suzhou Creek and many other parks.
The sheer scale here is quite amazing which contributes to the lively and vibrant running community.
ok thank you for wasting 1min of your time listening to my opinion on China, in particularly in SH which probably difficult for ppl in SG to relate.
yah our health most impt.Regardless of size, I think all regulars here are in good health now and many years to come. That is more important.![]()
Burpees board jump looks bad form but they can accept haha.
Still a very solid all round workout.

I think more risky is those who half trained. Like HM, only trained up to 10-12k.
Then feel garang during actual HM, chiong too much while body is not used to the stress for last stretch.
Throw in early morning heat stress too.
For typical untrained EDMWer, they will have knee pain within 1km and start walking. So no worries.
No joke. When I was a unhealthy BBFA doing IPPT, I chionged less than 500m and panting like crazy. Then dropped out.![]()
I bui bui then and still bui bui now.me terbalik, from scrawny kid who can chiong easily to bb nao. you are moving towards the better direction![]()
you are mr consistentI bui bui then and still bui bui now.
having watched the recent 2025 SCSM, i do think the organisers should use World Major's standards as a reference and work towards achieving as many requirement as possible. Not saying we need to get the World Majors acknowledgement. We have heat issue which is almost impossible to solve, but shouldn't stop the organisers from doing a much better job.https://www.channelnewsasia.com/sin...-organiser-standard-chartered-ironman-5574386
well, new organiser. Wonder how marathon will go next year haha
i have gone through multiple pairs of sl2 and still have two in rotation as my dailies. Will be using QD Leli to replace my Adidas Sl2 which is currently @ 700km mileage.
tomorrow rest.. after recovery runs the last 4 morning.
talking about midsole bottoms out, can i check with those with Puma Deviate Nitro 2, when do yours' start bottoming out? Mine from 350km forefoot, especially right, starts feeling uncomfortable. Having past 400km, i no longer run in them, just use for jalan jalan at times.i have gone through multiple pairs of sl2 and still have two in rotation as my dailies.
my personal experience, pass 450-500km mileage they are not longer suitable for more than 10km distance. forefoot midsole bottoms out and i get weird aches on my achilles if i put more than 12km in them. they are like dirt cheap when on sale so I limit their use to 500km or so now.
Sorry for the late reply haha bro, only managed to run 312 this year but I’m not too bothered by it and probably run a overseas race or two next year for sub 3.Well done @GlassDoor @Tudo88 @ctstalin on completing first marathon!
@Ender well done on new pb.
@Skyrillex Managed to sub 3?
I think I should not have run in alphafly3. Bought on carou and used only once for a short run. But I think somehow my HR was damn high from the start. Nevertheless, good year for me with new pb in half, 10 and 5km finally breaking 20 min. On to next year
