actually do we have Pro athletes and if their training are supported by govt ?

Im not super sure in detail who are the full pros in the local context as they (status) keep changing here and then also.....due to scholarships etc (ie your said govt/institutional support). But i believe Joseph Schooling is one...and some others in swimming, and definitely table tennis. But i think some also sure do some side jobs to supplement one lah, like do coaching, sports massage, PT etc.

But in the overseas context of solo/private pros like Kenyan runners or those triathletes type (below) who specifically earn in major terms via prizes as well as sponsorship from brands, ie sufficiently lucrative, dont think we have.

My sleep hour usually don't get points. Can never have a decent night of more than 6 hour of sleep to get a min points.
I wonder how am I still alive with average sleep hour of about 4 to 5 hours a day for so many years.

If your 4 to 5 hours of sleep is deep, then I think should be okay.

My mum like past 15 years 3-4 hrs sleep.
Not sure how much contribution to her recent stage 3 cancer also. The 2 specs said very variable one, difficult to say....might or might not be contributory.
Stress also (cortisol). She also has part time depression.
Her inflammation levels (CRP) standard tho during the annual bloodwork checkups.....the tumour markers also not useful/in any way definitive

My sleep hours also low. Maybe average 5-6. Downside of recreational runners with a passion. I think it’s very hard to get a solid 7-8 hours of sleep if doing 80-100km/week.

you morning or evening run person?
personally I have difficulty falling asleep after evening runs especially hard workouts. Have since shifted all running and workouts to the mornings. my sleep quality and duration is much better after this adjustment.

Yah evening runner. But hard to change to morning, so being used to evening. But I think this could be a possibility. Lots' of sleeping youtuber also discourage exercising before bed time.

when young, 5-6hrs are ok when body can recover fast. But too much of it will probably experience payback in later years. But everyone's body is different.

I think this model is getting more attention after Suguru Osako broke the Japanese NR in it.
