This red traffic light company really sibei good and they learn from amdk. After a while will slowly up price and charge this and that. Then the customers all kana trapped.

I used to use the 3 traffic light companies. Ass kana raped till don’t know the hole how big. After MNVO really sibei song. Company gives $100 hp subsidy and I use $10 plan. For one moment, I am seriously considering whether to switch to try SingTel 5G

Same here, data roaming off in app, in China now, having problems connecting to their local partners.

Haven't try turning on but don't understand why they need data roaming just for calls and smses
That's what I thought all along until I came across that post.

If we're not using data from the Singtel line while roaming, we shouldn't have to turn on data roaming especially from the app. I'm one of those who were having difficulty connecting to Malaysian network from my old Singtel line, thus had to switch my primary line to Simba.

Yes... we should be able to do roaming for calls & sms without the data......

Not sure if they configure wrongly backend or what

You can try by turning it on in Singtel app but make sure your phone roaming data settings is off to avoid charges...

have you manually selected a network before? if so you need to reselect or choose automatic if not it will keep trying to connect to the previously manually selected one

1) No need to turn on data roaming to receive SMS (free) or calls (chargeable and pretty expensive). I just came back from a short one week visit to China myself. I used SIMBA S$12 plan for roaming data and roaming voice. I also disabled roaming data for my main SingTel line. When I received a call from my main SingTel line, I ignored the call and later used SIMBA to call back.

This is what I was doing for the short trip to China.

I was able to receive Singapore SMS and voice calls with the settings.

I received three voice calls and I used SIMBA to call back.

I rejected one of the three voice calls instead of ignoring the call, but luckily no charges. Just received the Singtel bill yesterday and no roaming data usages and roaming voice call usages were recorded.

And make sure that data cannot be access on secondary SIMs too.

Good point. On my Poco X7 Pro, there is a setting to "Use mobile data during VoLTE calls on the second SIM" and I disable the option.

But I think once you disabled roaming data on the phone, this should not be a problem.

Automatic will keep finding then become emergency calls only

Interestingly our two SingTel SIM Only S$15.28 lines behave differently when receiving calls but not picking up.

My one: call would end.
My wife one: it will ask the caller to leave a voice message.

Both lines were under my name and were converted from SingTel Combo 2 plans a few years ago.

So looks like voice message function may be available. Need to see how to disable the function as it may incur high roaming voice charges when overseas.
I’ve the voicemail activated in my plan as well. But the SingTel app doesn’t show that I’ve registered for it.

After I used the USSD to deactivate the. m, it’s gone. Not sure if the service comes back again.

Are you using iPhone?

I contacted Singtel WhatsApp and they claim my two SingTel SIM Only plans do not support voice mail.

And indeed my Android phone has no issues. My wife's iPhone 14 did not have this issue last time but now it has this issue. So it could be an iOS 26 "Live Voicemail" feature. I will check this evening.

Hello there, we have check here. There's no voicemail services on two lines.
Kindly check on your Setting device.

Here's the steps to disable
-Go to Settings → Phone → Live Voicemail, and switch it OFF.

- You can disable voicemail by canceling all call forwarding (which includes voicemail) using a universal GSM code.

Open the Phone app.
Go to Keypad.
Dial ##004# and tap Call.
Wait for a confirmation message like “Setting Deactivation Succeeded.”

Earlier discussions about iPhone Live Voicemail feature.

turn off call screening and live voicemail on your iphone when you are overseas.

If I understand it correctly, iPhone live voicemail is different from regular telco voicemail.

For call forwarding, that is the reason why one should divert all calls (unconditional, before the call reach the roaming partner) instead of divert missed call (conditional, after the call reached the roaming partner).
There is a major difference between the 2.

im referring to the live voicemail feature on iPhones.. not telco.. and ST MVNO dont have voicemail service in the first place.

live voicemail:

call screening:
https://support.apple.com/en-sg/guide/iphone/iphe4b3f7823/ios

Will incur call time as well. Turn this off when roaming unless using simba line.

Yup, using iPhone running iOS 26.2. I also tried calling 1389 to check the mailbox, but the system said invalid mailbox number. So, now we know likely it’s the iOS Live VM feature is the culprit behind this mysterious VM service.

Then, I’ve to see if iOS has an automation to disable the Live VM when the primary line is in roaming network.

Hmm, both Combo 2 lines had voice mail add-on service. I believe that was the default for Singtel Mobile Combo plans.

But yes, it is a good idea to disable voice mail function to avoice extra voice roaming charges.

Now I need to figure how to disable the voice mail function. I will contact Singtel WhatsApp for help.
Bro, I believed the voice mail is from iphone. Since iOS18 onwards got free apple voicemail.

Thanks.

Yes this is resolved after disable the iPhone 14's Live Voicemail function.

And it is good to know that SingTel does not enable voicemail function on the SIM Only plans.

My current SIM cards was issued 2 years ago when I port-in to Singtel. How do I know if it is 5G SA capable?
From the list of Singtel 5G SA compatible mobile phone list(updated in Sep 2025), my current phones Sharp Aquos R9 Pro and R9 are not in the list though they are newer models.

Do you see 5G or 5G+ symbol on your phone?

You can download apps like NetMonitor free version to check if you are connected to 5G SA or not. You need to enable SA on your Android phone.

Example from my Poco phone.

nperf is another app to use to check.

I do have 5G symbol. As for the phone setting, I can only choose preferred for 5G/LTE/3G.
I will try the Netmonitor app.

In your Android phone, you should be able to enable SA by going into SIM Card settings.

Example:

In any case, you can go to nearby SingTel Shop. Then you can either ask the staff for help or use the self service kiosk to change the old SIM Cards to 5G+ SIM Cards. You need to use SingPass for verification.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/info/switch-5g-plus/postpaid

Our two SIM Cards were changed to 5G+ SIM cards using the self service kiosk at SingTel Jurong Point Shop. The old cards were from SingTel Mobile Combo 2 plans and not compatible with 5G SA.
