This looks like "outdated info"!

Because we just need to call hotline, and it will "stop"!

Mine is until Feb, then I will know if it is still "eating money"!
can just call hotline and the data leaks will stop?

The only true prepaid sims are from Singtel and M1 am i correct? Starhub prepaid doens't work like a prepaid in a convetional sense anymore. Simba prepaid doens't work like a prepaid either right?

Does Singtel prepaid upgrade to a 5g network card work with 4g only phones?
Prepaid is just a category, it doesn't matter whether it works like prepaid or not as of now actually most, in fact all MVNOs, postpaid plans are similar to prepaid operation. What matters most now is what is your SIM classification? If it is classified as prepaid, then you can port to other telco's prepaid. As far as I know as of now, only MCard, certain Hi! Card and Simba Prepaid are the only prepaid cards, SH seems to exit from the prepaid sector.

1)Yes, SingTel Prepaid and M1 Prepaid are the real one. SIMBA prepaid is prepaid as per IMDA classification (up to 3 lines) but not really that useful since you have to top up to keep the number every 30 days.

New StarHub Prepaid plans are Postpaid as per IMDA classification (up to 10 lines).

2) Yes. I have two Singtel 5G+ SIM cards now, one on a 4G phone and one on a 5G phone.

Ironically, the best prepaid card ie. no requirement of keep buying plan is a non-prepaid card, Maxx. 🙄

As mentioned in the other reply, I tend to think M1 Maxx base plan will be changed (account to be removed after 60 days no top-up) or removed after the merger with SIMBA. Enjoy while you can.

Reason:
1) Many of the M1 Maxx base line will not pay and it does not make business sense to keep it.
2) After the merger, the subscription number may be enough and no need the fake number added by M1 Maxx base plan.

BTW, StarHub has cleaned up many (about 10,000) inactive StarHub Prepaid users as per their recent reports.

On the contrary, the direction will depend on Simba strategy. Putting up an impressive no. is part of the game especially in postpaid category whereby no. of Simba/M1 users is so closed behind ST. Maintaining free Base Plan may make Simba becoming biggest telco in SG. We'll see how it goes... 🤔

Additionally, SH prepaid migrated to postpaid and ST introduces some Hi! postpaid plans are sign that postpaid is the focus and battleground. To win the no. game, Maxx free Base Plan is very likely to stay, not to grab the main line users but to secure more secondary lines.

Experience the power of True 5G with M1 Prepaid

For SIM exchange, please bring your current Prepaid SIM and physical NRIC/FIN/Passport used during registration.

https://www.m1.com.sg/prepaid5g#tabs-17f61abc74-item-717e17dc2c-tab

Step-by-step guide to check your 5G readiness:

1. Ensure that your phone supports 5G. See the full list of 5G phones here.

2. You will need either a 5G physical SIM or eSIM:

a. Physical SIM users:

• Check for 5G: “5G” is printed on your SIM card

• Upgrade to 5G: Visit any Prepaid Roadshows, along with your current Prepaid SIM & NRIC/FIN/Passport used when you first registered.

b. eSIM users:

• if you're using a Prepaid Data-only eSIM, good news — it is already 5G-enabled. Ensure that your phone supports 5G. See list of 5G phones here.

• if you’re using other types of eSIMs (e.g. $12 Tourist or $25 eSIM), upgrade it to 5G by exchanging for a physical 5G SIM at any Prepaid Roadshows.

3. Nothing is complete without a 5G plan from Prepaid.

a. all Prepaid top-ups are now 5G enabled.

b. no 5G plan yet? Get yours via the M1 Prepaid App or at M1 Prepaid Retailers.

4. Lastly, ensure that your phone has the latest firmware and 5G settings switched on. Need help? See our guide here.

Indeed StarHub's new Prepaid S/M/L plans are Postpaid plans as per IMDA classification. You can have up to 10 lines and not limited to three lines for Prepaid.

StarHub still has a bit of Prepaid services: tourist SIMs. Interestingly StarHub has consolidated to use single StarHub app for all the services under StarHub brand (not giga, not eight).

FAQ:

How many lines am I allowed to sign up?
Passport holders are allowed to sign up to 3 mobile services.

SingTel hi! Postpaid 4G plans get less support than SingTel Prepaid plans.

1) No hotline, only through online chat
2) Not supported by SingTel shops. You can not sign up through SingTel shops, only through online (eSIM) or authorised dealers (physical SIM).

SingTel Prepaid users get support from SingTel Shop Prepaid Counter and also SingTel Prepaid hotline.
