Just wondering any of the SIMBA users here are using the new ONU (an ONR) setup. You can see the 10G LAN port and four 1G LAN ports are all working.

If using this new ONU setup, most likely they will configure the bundled D-Link DPN-BE7212GR in AP mode to avoid Double NAT.

Interested to know how the ONR is configured also. My guess is since CGNAT is used, all the ports are enabled to provide CGNAT IP each, while the ONR is locked down with no web gui to change any settings like M1.

No, since it is an ONR, you should be able to log in and then change some settings. The features are probably limited though.

Hopefully the users here will share some screenshots.

I'm using eero router from Simba. I need to disable IPv6 otherwise quite often there is no internet traffic for some apps although wifi signal is full and need to turn wifi on/off to fix the internet traffic flow. My current workaround is disabling IPv6 then no issue. Anyone having the same issue and have workaround without disabling IPv6 setting?

PSA: Do not book NLT activation slot a day before weekend/PH

I am a new subscriber to SIMBA. The experience from sign up to installation is generally a good one, except their billing policy which leaves a very sour taste in the mouth.

I chose the NLT activation date to be a Friday. As per their policy, the installation would be the next working day, ie Monday. However, as per their policy once again, the billing starts on the day after NLT activation (ie Saturday in my case). But without the installation of ONU and router from them, I had no service during the Sat & Sun, till they were installed on Mon. So I was charged for 2 days when there was no service to me.

My on-going email chain with the CSR is just going in circles, with them repeating the billing policy and me lamenting being 'cheated' by their policy.

I wonder if any others had experienced the same. I guess I can only warn others with this post.

Loop in IMDA and get SIMBA to sort it out.

Did anyone have upload issues this morning? 6am my download was full speed but upload was close to 0. I changed cables, restarted ONT and router many times, only to have it fixed at 9:30am… all I did was probably a 20th ONT restart and that fixed it. Definitely nothing on my side! Speedtest was showing about 40% packet loss but I have zero issues now.

existing m1 user, but looking around for new broadband promo for my resale unit

Eight, the dealer bo chap attitude, and slow or zero replies to emails ( as per google review) means you are stuck if you need anything.

Whizcomms, wkday after office hrs charge $, wkend also charge so much $, just for simple "installation / activation" ?

SIMBA, cust svc email says no wkend...piang eh, must be home at wkend just to make sure meh? and after reading this comment about billing..........+ their recent case where they refuse to cancel subscription when user's family have issue...means anything happen, they wont help you at all....

That bad ah? I too on M1 for more than 10 years and never look at others but since this simba promo with router at $29.90 pm same as what i play M1 now so thinking to switch?

if you wanna be "safe" with fallback, just subscribe a new line (since your FTP can support 2). try out a while before making a decision. during this time, you still have your reliable existing m1 line, so no fear.

of course, you could be brave and just switch...... then tell us about it, and how you dealt with any hiccups. Adds to the body of knowledge.

can't decide between M1 29.90 plan or Simba 29.99 plan, heard bad reviews about Simba. Is it worth to go for Simba as this promotion is quite good than M1 while risk poor after sales service or to go for M1?
