I have more or less done with the testing of all the 5G/4G networks.

Before the testing I have two more active lines.
1) SingTel S$15.28 SIM Only plan, main line
2) StarHub Happy Prepaid card (legacy number, for number parking purpose)

After test testing, I will add eight S$8 plan to the list.

1) SingTel S$15.28 SIM Only plan, main line.

2) StarHub Prepaid S plan at S$3 per month (StarHub Happy Prepaid migration offer, for number parking purpose, also for testing of StarHub 5G network)

3) eight S$8 plan at S$8 per month, effective price at S$4 per month for the next 22 months due to the S$88 top-up offer, as a backup and also for roaming (nice feature of free voice roaming).

Now I also have three prepaid cards from Singtel and M1 but they are not really actively used.

Anybody's eight mobile is down now? Seems like no service....

Location Northpoint Yishun
It was emergency calls only signal...
Seems likely maintenance or cell tower down issue for me... After 2 hours... Line back up as usual.. same location Northpoint Yishun.

By the way, eight customer service at Whatsapp AI is totally useless...

Seems like senior plan don't have then. Wahh wasted should've gone for $8 plan then downgrade switch to senior plan after the free 88 days.

Fyi to the rest to port in to the $8 first for the promotion then downgrade later.

The promotion FAQ says it can take 7 working days for the port-in promotion to appear. Have 7 working days elapsed since porting in yet?

One of my colleagues just converted from StarHub giga S$15.28 5G plan to StarHub eight S$14.8 5G plan.

He told me the port-in process was super fast, only one hour, then his old number is already working with eight and not giga.

I was showing him the roaming benefits of eight over giga and he agreed that eight is much better for his use cases.

He did not consider the eight 4G plan and I agreed with him since he only wanted to have single line.
Any feedback for local usage 5G Giga vs 5G 8 any difference as the price is less than a dollar difference.

Wanted to see does SH pioritise Giga over 8 for 5G local usage.

Should be no difference as per the following thread in terms of priority between giga and eight. But he does not have eight 5G plan QCI value and I can only assume that it is the same as eight 4G value of 170.

But I will ask my colleague after he comes back from his overseas trip.

StarHub

MyRepublic 5G Essential Plan $15.95/month (only available in-app):
QCI 140 APN: shwap
AMBR: 4000/400 (5G)

MyRepublic 5G Flexi Plan $13.95/month (also only available in-app):
QCI 140 APN: shwap
AMBR: 4000/400 (5G)

MyRepublic 5G Prime Plan $12.95/month:
QCI 140 APN: shwap
AMBR: 4000/400 (5G)

eight 4G $8 Plan:
QCI 170 APN: shwap

giga 5G 300+300GB $18.33/month:
QCI 170 APN: giga

SingTel

CMLink 4G 30GB with 10GB China Roaming $10.90/month:
QCI 9 APN: e-ideas
AMBR: 1000/100 (4G)

GOMO 5G+ Asia Infinity $30.56/month (still 5G NSA only as of 28/9/2025):
QCI 9 APN: hicard (note: e-ideas now)
AMBR: 1000/150 (5G)

ZYM Mobile Roam SMART 5G $15/month
QCI 9 APN: e-ideas
AMBR: 2000/100 (5G)

M1

M1 Maxx $10 5G $10/month
QCI 9 APN: sunsurf
AMBR: 4200/4200 (5G)

SIMBA

SIMBA SuperRoam 12 $12/month
QCI 9 APN: tpg
AMBR: 204/204 (5G)

Tested on realme GT Neo5 SE (realmeUI 6.0, Android 15)

Updated with some new plans I've gotten to test and the AMBR (speed cap) values which I have gotten from Network Signal Guru. Format is Download/Upload in Mbps, and numbers differ between 4G and 5G for most plans. Keep in mind the limit is unlikely to affect true performance, as most are well above what our networks are capable of. The only ones that may present limits in speedtests are GOMO's 1000/150, ZYM's 2000/100 and SIMBA's 204/204, as each network is theoretically capable of higher downloads for GOMO and SIMBA, and higher uploads for ZYM.

It's already more than 7 days, ported on 14th Dec
By any chance did the subscriber take advantage of the 1-for-1 top up offer on that line? According to the FAQs the promotions are mutually exclusive. The top up offer was generally the better promotion, so it’s not a bad thing if so.

It’d be nice to have a domestic, Google Fi-style MVNO that aggregates all 4 LTE and all 3 5G networks into one virtual network. Maybe with monthly prices starting at $19. Some people would like that sort of deal.

Hmm, Google Fi is mainly using T-mobile, right?
https://fi.google.com/about/coverage

AI Overview from Google.
While Google Fi used to leverage multiple networks like Sprint and US Cellular, it now primarily relies on T-Mobile's network in the U.S. after T-Mobile acquired Sprint and largely integrated US Cellular's assets, with some limited US Cellular roaming for Fi-certified phones where T-Mobile is weak. For international travel, it connects to various partner networks globally for seamless data and calls, a key differentiator from standard T-Mobile plans.

How often does Eight has this port-in free 88days offer?
I'm considering if I should port-in my spare line to $14.80 5G plan. Then downgrade to $8 4G plan after the free period.
My current spare line is ST Combo 1 4G line $6/mth, given 10Gb local data(FOC 2 yrs till Oct 2026), 5G access and CID free since end 2024(till they decide to ask me to pay).

Eight has had port-in promotions fairly regularly.

What's the rush? You're paying $6 per month, and that's a nice price. If your current service meets your needs, great! Eight can only currently beat that price with its senior plan.

Thanks very much. I'll keep it for now. Cheers!
