Happy 2026 everyone!

Wanna ask, my mama line is currently using eight $8 plan under my name, what's the easiest way to port her number to senior plan (eight or others)?

Thanks!

Eight dosen't do ownership change, so you will have to port out and probably also have to pay some sort of fee (not sure if its still applicable) to the telco

Some of the MVNO also supports it

I faced this issue but mine was worst. 1st day self collect from shop, activated by shop. But went home no signal. ding dong here, ding dong there. took about 20+ days to solve the issue. Went to service center twice.

They void my 1st signup and ask me to signup again. Because they cannot just change the faulty sim card :o
However, they did promise to add the amount I paid for 1st sign up into 2nd sign up. Now pending for them to credit it into my account.
Oh dear, sounds bad. Now I am in China and I am using the SIM card which they gave me. The existing phone number is not ported into the card and the card I am not able to use for data roaming, and it is a data SIM card Plan and I cannot make any voice calls either . Looks like I am in the same boat as you. I think I will cut short the pain and get them to terminate the service. And the port-in and helpme email box are not responding to my queries either.

I have another existing 8 line with them with $200++ credits inside. I think i will not top up any amount just in case they screw up the other line too.

How about emails?
There should be one confirming your payment and another to pick up your SIM which mentions the number being ported as well as the temp number and activation code.
Yes.. I did receive that email which consists a long string of numbers for the mobile number and activation code. Nothing mentioned about porting in, etc.

eight home Internet minimum contract period is 12 months, after that it is on rolling 30 days plan as per the terms and conditions..

eight home Internet 18% OFF promotion is until 31 Jan 2026.

I believe the 18% OFF will be there as long as you sign up before 31 Jan 2026, and then maintain both the eight home Internet and eight 5G plan.

Need confirmation from the users of eight 5G plan plus eight home Internet.

All in all, it seems to me that eight treats your order as a new sign up of the data plan and not a port-in.

What does your eight app says about your plan?

In this case, it is also easy for you as it will not affect your existing CMLink line. Just cut the new data only plan line.

Take note eight data only plans cost the same as normal plans.

inside shopping malls or outdoors? It really depends where you are actually. Just like in Singapore, not everywhere is covered

Other than coverage, it could also be due to congestions. Roaming users will usually get low priority on the roaming network compared to local users.

As per others, the potential solution is to change to another roaming partner to see if it gets better (either better coverage or less congestion).

Disregard this issue faced by the bro.

no point for any one to sign data only sim than the usual sim since price of the plan is the same. And it does not make any difference if one uses the SIM card on iPad etc.

I used to have Eight lines in my iPads and of course, the regular plan since their data plan costs the same. That gave me the freedom to switch my lines to other devices as and when I like, especially when change of SIM has been FOC.

Only thing back then, was the management of such a line, since we couldn't receive OTP from an iPad for app login. Things are much easier these days after they started to allow us to group-manage different lines.

But I've switched to using $5 Simba lines for my iPads now. :o

  • Eligible customers will pay $23.62 on the monthly subscription fee of the 10Gbps Home Internet plan (18% off U.P. $28.80) for as long as they remain eligible i.e. remain a 5G mobile customer with eight.
I planning to get one. My Contract with MyRepublic is ending in April

When you get your Eight sim card, have you tested on your phone to check if there are signal in Singapore first?
When I first get my sim card, my mistake was not inserting into my 2nd sim slot to test for signal. :(

I also receive many email after the shop activate my sim when I collected from them. The shop use the activation code for activating the sim.

All my email to them take 2- 3 days for them to reply, best part the ticket will auto close once they reply to you even it is not resolved yet. That why I keep going down to their service centre. Unfortunately their service centre also cannot do anything if it is complex and customer service just push to the backend to solve it.

Actually once port over successfully, everything will be smooth. I also have existing line with them.
