Most are new/temp staff for the new branch, ask can use gift card, 1 looked blur, another said system cannot accept .....

What "cannot accept" means, it's anybody's guess .... either the POS is being pushed out without full features, or someone forgot there is such a thing .....

then you try it in other locations. gift card if it's the same as what i think you are referring to. should be alive n well

You should have asked them to confirm with their supervisor so they can learn (or for their branch to know that there is a lapse in training).

If some company as big as NTUC FairPrice doesn't give a super long grace period to stop using their own gift card, I think there must be some mistake somewhere.

The new self service POS has different UI from the older version .... and I cannot find gift card option, thus I ask and confirm with staff, say not supported .....

Of course the staff said "will be supported in the future", though I will not take that comment as official statement from the company ....

I am sharing it here to raise awareness, not to find fault with the company .....

I tried at the newer branch, cashier also said no, but I must add that it was manned a young staff, probably temp hired for the New Year period ......

Wasnt checking my transaction until i saw your complain. UOB 1 card membership fee, posted date 2 Jan 26 - amount $196.20.

Wah I just became a share holder of UOB, must say if i look at it from that angle this shows they are taking a hard nose business approach by not accepting waiver.

update: ok. I just made a request on UOB Chat Assist. My card membership fee was successfully waived.

My appeal was rejected lol.. oh well.

Replied to them to say that the outcome of this appeal will be considered in all future dealings with the bank. LOL

I also go thru the UOB chat channel to request for waiver, so far they will waive for me, but if my coming one they don't, I will just cancel the card lor...

It's to chat with the CSO for waiver, not to apply waiver thru the chat again
