wow. that is great upgrade to it's plans.Great News! Your 5G plan just got even better!
You have previously voted, and here's the surprise we have installed for you. Instead of just one destination, we are giving you MORE.
Lucky Eight Plan: Now with China & Korea!
Triple Eight Plan: Now with China, Korea & Japan!
These destinations are added on top of your existing APAC roaming data (28GB for Lucky Eight, 36GB for Triple Eight) for Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Thailand, Vietnam and Taiwan, absolutely FREE!
Just turn on roaming & stay connected easily! Travel worry free with eight!
We got you covered!![]()
sooner or later they will "match"wow. that is great upgrade to it's plans.
This is a good response to the other singtel mvnos who recently upgraded APAC data to 20GB from 15GB. Can song song gao jippun!
I have been using pi-hole for quite awhile, but always have some issue as it was super aggressive. Lazy to go back to change my blocklist. But it works well to block many things. I sometimes still use it over Tailscale.Either way should be okay on the mobile.
I use Cloudflare Family DNS (1.1.1.3) and Quad9 DNS on the home router (virtual OpenWRT router on a mini PC, DNS over HTTPS, with OpenWRT adblock-fast package). Previously I was using Adguard Home DNS or Pi-Hole (running as a container) with OpenWRT router and Asus Router.
But on the mobile side, I just use the default DNS from the mobile provider. Only occasionally I will use Cloudflare Warp client or WireGuard client on the mobile phone (WireGuard Sever on the home router).
Simba and singtel mvno is having emergency meeting as we speak.sooner or later they will "match"

The MVNOs war now is base on roaming data allocations .. nothing much they can add .. apart IDD call minutes i can think ofSeeing how Singtel MVNO is able to give 50GB JP KR AU for new port ins last month, i think mvnos including eight can offer more. They just waiting for simba to react. Simba have been very quiet since the $60 top-up fiasco

Give cheaper plan lah, $1 plan kym cuz moi don't use much. Even the senior $5 plan like excessive siaThe MVNOs war now is base on roaming data allocations .. nothing much they can add .. apart IDD call minutes i can think of

I feel that giga and gomo have been quite quiet and not really responsive to competition. Their time might be up soon. With more SingTel/Starhub MVNO adding new data roaming countries or more roaming data to their plans, some plans are even cheaper than GOMO and Giga, these 2 sub-brand MVNO will need to up their game soon, still locking to 5 nations roaming for APAC region is starting to lose the steam.
eight add more roaming countries and roaming data so hope the rest is feeling the stress and need to up the game, get the ball rolling again, the rest of the MVNO plan have been so stagnant for a few months.
