Means if we use router with SIM card will be useless cos the speed is capped
no, leh, my tplink 5g router antennae is more powerful than the poco phone

it can connect 5g where my phone can only manage 4g+, using m1, surprised to see this initially, i think those portable routers may have less powerful antennas like in phones though

Phone get lower speed than router. I have no idea why. The phone battery will be quite warm.
IMHO

Using a phone as a hotspot is only ideal for outdoor activities or short periods, while for home Wi-Fi, a SIM router is more suitable in terms of both speed and economy of scale.

You can’t use your phone’s hotspot 24/7 without it heating up, draining the battery, and shortening its lifespan. A SIM router doesn’t have these issues.

And of course, as I always say, "to each his own".

I use an old mobile tethered to a GL.inet Beryl running during the day - cheaper alternative with many features like VPN client and server. I should be able to remote access my home network too. (y)

P.S. Better for you not to see this. You're too fixated with 5G gateway router. :ROFLMAO:

I was surprised when the postman delivered the ZYM mobile SIM card to my house this afternoon.

I signed up for the ZYM 1020 GB plan (though it’s really only 400 GB) on Saturday, February 14, at $15.10 per month, but it works out to just $10 a month since the third month is free with their CNY offer.

I didn’t think it would arrive so fast, especially with the Chinese New Year holiday.

I opted to have it mailed for $3, as it’s far cheaper than driving to JEM shopping mall, where petrol and parking alone cost over $10, not to mention the time wasted picking it up myself.

I’ve noticed a few ISPs rolling out “CNY specials” SIM plans to attract customers, leaving us spoiled for choice. The more these ISPs offer, the more we get to save.

i dunno starhub tv+ is set to 4k or 1080
content whole day burns a lot of data... google the amount yourself

my household ave 20gb/day

5g plans... data constraints
4g plans... speed constraints
IMHO. IIRC.
If M1 Maxx works for you, it is a 30-days plan - you can buy a new plan when the data finish.
$12 for 500GB. They may have additional GB promotion.

P.S. I using Circle.Life 1TB 5G @ $10.70.

Thanks bro,
so it seems like if i want a no contract set up to watch TV (starhub tv+ app/ YouTube/dramas streaming etc)
i should at least get a 5G Sim Card router paired with 5G connection?
Am i right?

I will connect the TV by Lan cable.
🙏
IMHO.
Important is the location of the router where the signal is strongest.
E.g The location of my Zym 5G is the strongest, my Circle.Life is the weakest. I have to move the router to the other end of the house.
4G or 5G, it is doable if the speed is > 100 Mbps.
The main advantage of 5G is the lower ping. - more responsive.

Did you know the second SIM card is only free for the first month, and after that, it costs $14 per month?

below is from circles.life web:

How much does Multi-SIM cost?

1 Multi-SIM: $14.13/ month
2 Multi-SIMs: $22.20/ month
3 Multi-SIMs: $30.28/ month
