Let's see if we will see Mac Mini M5 later this year.

I was deciding between a MacBook Neo and Mac Mini M5. In the end I bought MacBook Neo.

My Mac Mini M1 2020 8GB/256GB still serves me well though. I do not do things like heavy Photo Editing or any video editing on any of my Windows/Linux/macOS machines.

MacBook Neo has rightfully been praised for its low price point, but the Mac mini remains the most affordable Mac you can buy—at least, before adding a display, keyboard, and mouse or trackpad.

The Mac mini is expected to get an update this year with two chip options:

• M5
• M5 Pro

Like the new Mac Studio, we’re not expecting any outward design changes. But with the Mac mini gaining new popularity as a device for OpenClaw and Perplexity’s ‘Personal Computer,’ a simple chip bump should prove welcome nonetheless.
