I had just beaten SH2 Remake. It's a great game but with some slight annoyances (not a dealbreaker though) such as
1) every time you save, James (protagonist) always will make a turn towards his back
2) when you get to close to the wall or door, sometimes James will be in "spasm"
The good stuffs......
1) It is so satisfying when you use the steel pipe...until the end of the game you still won't get sick of it.
2) The prison area is probably the most intense level.
3) I particularly like the last part when they have
Eddie as a boss, double Pyramid Head bosses, stripped you off almost all the items (including weapons and maps) leaving you totally vulnerable (can only run and dodge and hide) when you have to explore and collect what you need
4) the intriguing and weird plot in a good way
Why I play it again? Yes (because it's fun!) and No (because it's pretty scary).
Just finished RE9 Insanity mode and oh my what an ride, definitely a very different game from normal mode. Definitely enjoyed that, but I had to turn on infinite ammo at the end of the game cause I just cannot clear that part and I just want to finish that part so I can move on to other game.
I've gotten the "In Water" ending in my first playthrough.
I read that I can still tip the scales at the end to get "Mary" and "Maria" endings as I have multiple save files. "Maria" ending was easier as I have been listening to her optional convos and checking in her etc all these times. (I didn't know that it favours that ending) And I thought "Mary" ending was not possible anymore due to me favouring Maria.
I just spammed looking at her photo, and did what the internet recommended and the moment I saw a different cutscene after the final boss, I know the "Mary" ending is coming and indeed, it did!
I guess now I can try experiencing Hard difficulty (for puzzle also) with the Chainsaw (time for revenge!) for a second playthrough and try to get the remaining endings and other trophies.

Update: just found out can high contrast mode but with world graphics intact to not totally lose atmosphere.
I find a bummer that Silent Hill 2 Remake doesn't have a chapter select unlike games such as TLOU etc, to ensure we can search for the missed glimpses, memos and strange photos again by revisiting and it's annoying when you had missed just one or two of these collectibles. I usually try to search every nook and cranny to get close to 100%. And if you turn on high contrast mode, that's like a bit too easy. Currently playing in NG+ on Hard with the Chainsaw - noisy but fun to just grind them through.
