Oh. Local, I am registered for 2XU although kinda regretted it. Pen C Somemore.

This year no more Lazada Run 21km. Maybe will sign up for Garmin Run. And there is a new midnight race this year.

https://midnightrunasia.com/singapore/#
Can use 2XU as training race, since you paid for it, might as well go. But don’t have to exhaust yourself to go for PB

Midnight run will be interesting, since no more sundown. I might consider this if it’s later half of the year.
I have the ebook Advance Marathoning that the fitzinger plan came from. PM me if you want to read the book.
I will need to take a look at the book after the marathon.

I think the 18 weeks plan is great for rebuilding back base. 12 weeks possible if base is developed and time is tight.

Some people mentioned that the tune up race is actually all out effort but I think it’s just too much since in the same week, I have to do a long run. I will still run hard but be realistic. I will run 15k > 8k > 10k in the tune up

Dont ask me how true is it or about the exact science or needing to quote studies. I also just know it more or less works for me and specific use case and interests. Maybe take away the time efficiency bit...but of coz if you have no issues devoting > 4 h/wk for training then really no issue...or you might have issues with impactful training so the training hours volume is secondary etc.

edit - im not into Hyrox, but you get the idea.
This fella is also (very) fast in the Hyrox space.....comfortably sub 1:00 fella even though is M45-49 (just found out, 53 min PB)....believe that's wayyyyyyy faster than what our local athletes are at.

Actually gonna use 2XU to run 4.15-4.16 pace and see how long I can last haha.

Training have not been going smooth since my injury. But I am still hopeful

The book has a paragraph or two on tune up races and explain the rational of tune up races. You can decide what to do after reading it.

Just wondering, have you been able to get your pull ups nailed or still doing workouts for them?

I just came across the original / good pull up tutorial explaining in details that i used to train off from....so tot of sharing with you. Nowadays many of the shorts dont explain in details enough and so might delay beginners in getting their first pull up (or never at all).
Also, 1 more detail that this video missed, dont do the grip that the lady is using (ie suicide grip). Instead, use your thumb to wrap around the bar and position the thumb over the index finger or just beside it, also warp your fingers starting with the pink, then ring, middle, index finger and ending with the thumb last.
This is esp crucial if your deadhang grip strength isnt high as the grip is foundational.

And also, next time when you get more reps in, you can even use a semi false grip, ie rotating your hands/knuckles forward when gripping in addition to things like liquid chalk. This is supposed to get you chest/high pull ups too (im not till that level yet). But this needs additional strength training for the wrist flexors....but as usual, nothing is impossible if you progressively overload.

Saw SRY vlog of him pacing Ann Pow. This Ann Pow run 3.15 also like nothing. Although no footage from 30km onwards, I think her splits are pretty even.

Btw, Ann Pow quite chick lol hahahah

First intermediate brick session

The kang shi bo honey green tea seems to be good, totally no issue when tested at these (race) paces. 500ml = 37g
Regardless, before that also ate 2 bananas (got potassium) after dinner and also salty enough dinner.

Too warm also not feeling too good at the end part, cut short the run, was wanting to over distance to 7 or even 8km. Or also possibly over-paced it, without iced water also.
Checked it, heat index was 32 deg C.
