A compilation of M1 having weirdly high upload speeds

1) M1 SIM-only 1TB Plan, 4G, oddly misconfigured indoor site at Braddell MRT platform

2) Circles.Life 5G Unlimited Roam Lite, 5G SA, Tampines

4G UL speed was really surprising, while 5G speed required modding my Pixel to achieve, but funny that both occurred on M1

Some other results from this forum.

Was around Blk 206 Bedok North St 1 and there is 5G connection there. Did a speedtest and the results as below:

Download = 43.2 Mbps
Upload = 11.0 Mbps

IMHO.
Could be. Maybe I never put inside the mobile long enough.
My Samsung A14 5G, have to trigger then will go 5G. It will eventually get disconnected.
This morning testing

Simba 5G - Down/Up - 134 / 8.74 Mbps

You can see I removed the speedtest challenges for SIMBA users to exceed 300 Mbps. Looks like about 204 Mbps is the best you can achieve now using SIMBA.

A few takeaway.

1) From the test results, other than SIMBA's "5G" network, Singtel/M1/Starhub 5G networks can all be very fast.

2) Cheaper plans like M1 Maxx 5G and Eight 5G can also get very fast speed, same for Singtel MVNOs' 5G NSA speed.

3) Often flagship phones like iPhone and Samsung Galaxy S series can get the top 5G SA/NSA speed.

4) For 4G speed, I have only seen one above 500Mbps speed from keenklee -- he got really fast speed from Singtel 4G network.

5) Challenges for SIMBA 5G plan users -- can it cross 300 Mbps?

6) Challenges for other 5G plan users -- can it cross 2Gbps?

7) Challenges for 4G plan users -- can it cross 600 Mbps?

As of now, this is probably not possible if the following post is correct. The limit of 204 Mbps download may not be super accurate but you will not get much higher than 204 Mbps, so 300 Mbps is probably out of bound as of now for SIMBA.

SIMBA

SIMBA SuperRoam 12 $12/month
QCI 9 APN: tpg
AMBR: 204/204 (5G)

Eh... my Samsung A14 5G also not flagship. But it has been a while since i tested it. 🤔

You can test it again.

I tend to think with more users on 5G plan, average speed may go up, top speed may go down for users with mid-range phones, unless you have flagship phones with flagship SOCs (with flagship 5G modems).

But maybe I am wrong, it could be that I need to find the perfect signal spot to get >1000Mbps for my mid-range phone.

Let's wait for more reports.

I see the "behavior" of the speedtest needle, not very promising to get high speed. :ROFLMAO:
