Some US stores carry the UK plug. If don't have, you can always buy the adapter with the UK plug locally.

Low oxygen variation is good. High oxygen variation indicates that you could have sleep apnea.
As for the line becoming orange for a few minutes, it could indicate mild sleep apnea as it is only for a few minutes.
Best is to get a sleep test for a definitive diagnosis.

Many cases of sleep apnea go undiagnosed.

It is usually someone notices that the person has episodes of “breathing stopped” during sleep, and informs the person about it.

If you feel that even after a decent number of hours of sleep , you wake up feeling tired or feel like dozing off during the day , that could mean that you have sleep apnea.

Another symptom is that you need to wake up in middle of night to urinate.

How do you deal with maintenance of the machine? Can bring machine to SG distributor for yearly maintenance or you do it yourself?

I only mask the mask daily and strap weekly.

Water tank and tubing I clean every now and then. After a while I buy new ones from taobao.

What prompted you to go for the sleep test? Did someone tell you that you seemed to have stopped breathing momentarily when you were sleeping ?

actually it went on for quite a while until i was seeing doc on other stuff on my respiratory system den mention to doc i had tis problem so was sent for slp test... but almost 1 week into using the machine, i do feel the diff in the morning not feeling tired as b4... anyway i m wearing the full mask tat covers my mouth n nose too..

I am about to pull the trigger on a new CPAP machine but the authorised distributor can't ship overseas as the manufacturer has region locked.....I will need to use a freight forwarding but I worry that it won't pass through customs........

Alternatively, i will have to get a refurbished machine since overseas shipping is allowed for secondhand machines

When I bought it 3 years ago, I needed to prepare a doctor's memo to certify that I need to use the CPAP machine. HSA will ask for this letter in other to clear. You will also need to pay for GST ofc.

One of the websites i found said that they are not allowed to ship new machines (not refurbished) to singapore but I found a freight forwarding company that can ship to Singapore.

I am just worried that US customs will confiscate it.

Went to hospital's CPAP consultation today. Here is the whole process:
1. The sleep technician explained to me how CPAP machine works.

2. Recommended the nasal mask. Said it's better than the nasal pillow (sleeping on the sides can cause the nasal pillow to dislodge from the nostrils based on my own experience) and full mask (too bulky).

3. Let me try BMC and Resmed nasal masks using Resmed Airsense 10 CPAP machine. I got to lie on the bed for 10 - 15 mins with the machine turned on for each mask. The air pressure was at 4. This is different from the Erikg sleep technician. The Erikg sleep technician told me to sit upright on my bed, then let me wear the nasal pillow and nasal masks from Wellell. The air pressure was increased to 8 to let me have a feel of the masks. Overall, I prefer the Resmed nasal mask as it does not dislodge easily when I sleep on my sides compared to nasal pillow mask. The head band is also more secure which wraps around the top of the head and below the ears. Nasal pillow mask only has a single Y-shaped band which can become loose easily.

4. I was given the Resmed Airsense 10 machine for 1-month free trial. Have to buy the mask separately though due to hygiene reason. I bought the Resmed nasal mask N20 which costs $207 - $10.35 (Discount) + 9% GST = $214.35. The BMC nasal mask is around 50% cheaper but I don't trust the quality of the materials used. Paid $250 for Wellell's nasal pillow mask from Erikg. Next time, I will buy the tubes, masks and filters from overseas for cheaper prices.

5. I was told to try using the CPAP machine without adding water for the first 2-3 days. Only add water if I find my throat very dry after using the CPAP machine.

6. During the 1-month free trial, you can opt to send your sleep data to the hospital's sleep clinic automatically from the CPAP machine so that if there are any issues with the sleep data, they can call you to give you advice. Alternatively, if you opt out of the automatic data upload and monitoring, you can call them for troubleshooting if there are any issues during the free trial. I opted out of it as I had no issues with the Wellell CPAP machine for the past month and the machine is easy to use. After the 1-month trial is up and you return the machine to the sleep clinic, they will extract the data from the machine and send a report to the doctor for your next consultation.

7. Hospital sleep technician told me that after the 1-month free trial, if I decide to purchase the CPAP machine during consultation with the doctor, I can get a government subsidy of 30%. This subsidy only applies to the machine bought from the hospital during doctor's consultation, not applicable to outside vendors. CGH's Resmed vendor is Easmed Pte Ltd. Also, I was told that I can only purchase the same model that I used during free trial which is Resmed Airsense 10. This is a very weird rule. I will try to ask for more information by calling them next week.

Overall, the hospital CPAP consultation is quite a good experience. Only issue is have to wait for 1 1/2 months for the appointment which is a bit long to me. This is why I rented the Wellell iX Auto CPAP Machine from Erikg to try it out before the hospital CPAP consultation appointment.

Hi guys, I am currently on a one-month trial period. I am renting the ResMed AirSense 10 from the Air Station.

Can I please ask a few questions:

1) for your own machine, are you able to extract the Sleep Data on your own without relying on the dealer or distributor? I found my distributor, Air Station, not so responsive and I don't want to rely on them

2) what machine do you use for travel? Any tips and advice?

3) my doctor suggested that I try sleeping on my side. I do fall asleep on my side but I also found myself waking up on my back. Do you guys use any sleeping aids yo help you with that?

i got referred to ERIKG CPAP jurong east branch. I think they got 3 outlets.

the model i use didnt come with the water/ humidifier since i didnt suffer from jialat dry nose and throat. so abit cheaper and easier to carry around.

i used the philip type of mask same design ( i think they recently found oem to do their house brand)

the data will store in a sd card, but need a program for them to decipher the data meants. I usually biyearly go over to the jurong east outlet and walk in to have the staff help me print report and adjust the clock ( somehow it always become slower over time but wont affect the performance).. its free anyway. just need to travel down... i also shunbian take free air filter mesh from them haha...

for oversea trip i just handcarry this machine and the mask , i check in the tubes with some bubble wraps as its bulky. my friend use something like this shoppee but diff brand. he told me his small machine cant really regulate the air but it keep on forcing it at a setting .. this shopee one i didnt use but it seems they can do it... provided u know how to set. but hor, its very small and easily fit into ur bag, along with the pipes.

sleeping sideway didnt help much since u cant control ur body rotation amdist sleeping.. but i heard u can try add multiple soft pillows to tilt u.. but i dont find it comfortable. i rather just wear the cpap machine and sleep...just need to get use to having abit of force tugging ur pipe unless you invest in some pipe holder like this.. i didnt bother...

possible to just buy the machine ourself without dong sleep test for knowing what airflow or other measurement to input?

I was given the impression that the sleep test is critical to get the right measurement for inputting into the machine. not possible to trial and error?

im on the one month trial now.

did the home test and was diagnosed. went the poly referral route to ktph.

paid $270 for a f40 mask. so depending on the usage during this one month, will determine if i can get subsidy for the purchase of the machine later.

still half/half. it does take away my daytime fatigue to some extent but i dont get a full night's of rest as i wake up on and off to adjust the mask and mouth feels dry even with water in the humidifier.

another 2 weeks to go before the trial ends.

another pro is the cpap does help in eliminating the snoring so perhaps for my future family trips, i can just book the normal rooms instead of suites.
