Finally Sub 90 at long last. This was very unexpected as training didn’t go according to plan. Couldn’t even complete my key workouts for the last 2 weeks and thus going into the race, I actually set my target to Sub 91. Was just telling myself a PB will suffice.

But the first few km felt so good with HR at around high 150 and low 160 that I decided to just go for it and see whether I can last anot. At 15-16km, I know there was a high chance I can potentially Sub 90 so I just yolo and went for it haha. Glad I did my surge at last few hundred meters if not I would have missed my Sub 90.

Next race will be Malaysia Marathon 2026. 5 weeks to decide what pace to go at.

Next potential goal to hit will be Sub 40 10km!

Thanks! You can do it soon. I went to drop weight specifically for this race haha.

Was at 76kg one month before and going into the race at 74kg
Maybe that's the big difference. Also, if you can do it on a hilly course, probably flat you will be quite a fair bit under

This one common problem with cyclists also, every time when there is a CDC given out.

Best to call and confirm model.
Running stores i dont think there are any actually....remember, even those factory or industrial estates or shophouses also cannot. Your best bet is bicycles.

City area - Chin Swee Rd
Hup Leong Company

Bukit Merah
Pro Cycles Bikes
HRM200 and HRM600

Hmm maybe haha. This PB very unexpected considering I couldn’t even do 12km at goal pace one week before the race.

Gonna tackle that sub40 10km already, need to see which races to sign up haha

Xiaonian is more for daily training, "do-it-all" shoe which is not plated while VF3 is carbon plated. In terms of performance, xiaonian is really more for training and daily runs while VF3 would be more speed/interval/ race day shoes

Yeah I got see him but he started at the front of the pen I think. I was at the front initially but needed to go toilet then become middle of the pack already.

I saw Run Roti John also but he was in high performance pen haha

agree, also do allow me to add, if one is just a recreational and not a fast runner, Xiaonian is more than good enough for a good HM and FM run in them, eg. 5-6:30min/km pace.

Lol. A Malaysian YouTuber that always record his races haha. I watch his videos cuz we are pretty similar haha but I think he’s a more refined marathon runner. He also just hit his Sub 90 HM last year at BKK ATM.

His friend is Alison Yee haha.
