how is it?

Promotion now is $49 for all 3 items...

Just Saw the Armourone Laptop Protection. 3 items just for SGD48 and comes with the Skin(Exterior,wrist-pad), moulded keyboard protector and LCD protective film. Quality looks quite nice.:s13:

There is someone selling the MTRON 1.8" 32GB SSD SLC ZIF2 (5mm thickness) around S$350 including shipping. Do a search on ebay with keyword "1.8 32GB SSD" (without quotes) and you should be able to find it.

Meanwhile, I am also thinking of buying one of these MTRON SSDs for myself too.

I did the RAM upgrade and Bluetooth mod on my own.
All you need is just a little patience and concentration to have these done.

Does anyone know a place that will help me upgrade my ram for me? I tried doing it myself but I lost a screw and one of the screws on the motherboard is impossible to remove.

hey, the RAM specifications for Aspire One is in fact PC-5300 DDR2 667.
For sure you can use that.

I took apart my set and found a Nanya PC-5300 DDR 667 512MB in the slot.

Have tried to install the latest Atheros wireless driver? I think the latest one is version 7.6.204.
Do a search and you should be able to find it.

Has anyone tried installing Windows XP on the Linux version of the Aspire One? I'm planning to do so, but I heard from someone that there were some problems.

For wireless problems, you may wish to upgrade to the latest bios too - google around for instructions.

For Windows XP on Linux version of Aspire One (AOA110), I believe the problem was because XP did not handle writes to the SSD storage efficiently.

Not sure if anyone has tried Windows 7 Beta on their AOA110? It's supposed to have SSD related improvements.

one qn...anyone got PING (Ghost-like) bootup on USB thumbdrive...

would like to create disk image of my hdd on Aspire One...but dont have external DVD drive to boot up my PING CD....FYI, image will be created on USB HDD.

anyone know how to do that without external CD/DVD drive...

then can play with nb without worrying abt reinstalling XP again.....

BTW, 1.5GB enough for XP? Although cannot up any more...

THks.

Hmm 10" Aspire ONE has been launched in other countries... should be expecting Singapore to launch it soon after... :s7:

But some reviews by users commented that it can't even be compared to be on par with MSI Wind U100...

Currently, I have Windows 7 Beta on my Acer AOA150 netbook. It is working perfectly fine.
The harddrive speed is about 50-60MB/s when checked with HDTune.

Yeap, works great on my AOA150 too - although I can't seem to "Safely remove hardware" for my Memory Stick Pro Duo (with Memstick adapter), still can browse the memory stick content even after doing so.

My question was more for AOA110 users, whether Win7 runs well on their SSD.

I think Windows 7 on AOA110 should not be an issue, except that you will need at least 1GB RAM and at least 8GB of empty storage for installation. Unless, the AOA110 is modified to have these specifications in as per required by the Windows 7 OS. Otherwise, you will not be able to install and run Windows 7.
