Hi all,

I have some exercises that might be able to help with hair loss. However, this needs to be consistently done and you should continue even after you notice that your hair loss improves or even stops.

I got these exercises and theory from 黄帝内经 and various other chinese medical text. According to the texts, a deficient kidney can cause hair loss. If you have problems like you notice your urination is no longer as forceful, or it stops and starts, it is due to deficient kidneys and your hair loss may be attributed to that. Since the ears are the reflex point for the kidneys, exercising them can help improve kidney function and reduce hair loss. Also if you experience ear ringing, these exercises can help.

** Note these are according to the texts and my own intepretation only. I don't claim to reverse your hair loss **

Do the below every morning and evening.

1) Using 3 middle fingers, comb your hair from just below hairline to the rear of your head 7x7=49 times, or more. Do not use your fingernails. Pressure must be firm but not causing pain. I also use this technique when shampooing my head. Remember you can do this from front to back only.

2) Using the balls of your fingertips of both hands, hit your entire scalp like needles poking. This improves blood circulation. 2-3 minutes.

3) Massage your earlobes by pulling them outwards using thumb and index finger. 2-3 minutes.

4) Cup both ears with your palms Using your index and middle finger, hit the soft bone at the back of your head, like drumming. You should hear drumming sound in your ears. 7x7=49 times or 2-3minutes.

5) Rub your palms together until they are warm, then massage your back waist where your kidneys are for 2-3 minutes. Kidney area should feel a warm and pleasant sensation.

6) Shake whole body and relax. End of exercise.

Try it out and let me know if it works for you!

if the result is not promising, i recommend u to stop using it and live with it, ya! Not everyone use it will achieve good result.:s13:

If really no result then its really sad. But doc says to take at least 1 yr before you see results haha. I got 10 mths to go before confirming if it works for me or not.

to people concern about Dr. eileen tan, i went before. lousy, nothing great, pricey.

consultation fee is 100+. different timing of the day and week, different '+'. so u step in.. u get ready to pay. i am a walk-in, no appointment. so wait for 1 hr for 2 patients. go in, ask me a lot of stuff.. the usual dr kaypo stuff. all i can say is, she will tell u to go for this test that test, dunno wat test to see if u are eligible for hair transplant. i mean, if got hair then plug out from the back then put to the front la, still got wat eligible or not. didnt even get to the price of hair transplant, by the time she say finish all the test and costs of it... my ears suddenly auto shutoff. she din even touch my hair or feel my scalp. just see like that and talk only. dude.. mine is oily scalp resulting in pore closure... i need no weird test.

in case u guys think wat test.. blood test need to pay... AA test need to pay. AA is alopecia areata. u guys can google it. if i have AA, i shave bald liao la... plus only 1% of the world have it. then keep saying have to go for test before determine if can do transplant. didnt get to the transplant price because i asked 3 times.. she say 3 times go for test first even tho i know i am not AA. i did my homework ma. u do blood test + consultation + AA test... easily 750+ on THAT day if u choose to do it. a nurse will try talk to u in details in a pte room after the dr session. quite pretty, sit close to me and look me in the eyes :D.. but too bad my pocket is more attractive.

after all the bla bla.. i finally said NO to all. paid the fees and byebye~~ now.. thailand on Jan 2010! already liasing with the docs over there. oh.. i'm 27 with M shape.

tequilablue82, can you share some information on where you got the contacts for doctors at Thailand? I have tried and given up hope on minoxidil, propecia and those saloon treatments with ampule. Tried everything but nothing is working, and I have wasted a lot of money already.

I had also visited specialists at the hospital and my blood test reveals that I might suffering from thalessemia, which might be the cause of my balding.

From your review on Dr Eileen Tan, the prospect of finding a permanent and useful solution in SG gets more bleak...

People around me tell me that I aged a lot over the last few years, which coincides with a lot of hair loss, maybe due to work stress.

I'm getting married soon, and don't wanna look botak when I go for my wedding shoot next year.
Saw a sample album at the wedding studio where the groom had very obvious MPB. I don't want mine to end up in the same way... Feel so depressed...

Hi tequilablue82, can you also please PM me on the information and contacts for the doctors in Thailand? Although this is my first comment, I have actually been following this thread for quite some time and found most of the discussions helpful. Sadly for me, all the medications only helps to slow down my hair loss and does not help to grow my hair back. So I am also currently considering hair transplant since I think this might just be the most effective one. Thanks.

Btw, i will really appreciate if you can share your HT experience after you get it done in Jan. Best of luck!

Yes. I'm diagnosed with suspected Thalassemia minor with hypothyroid.
It the hypothyroid that may be the cause of my hair loss...

Thanks Tequila, saw your PM.
I'm always travelling to BKK for work, so treatment in Thailand will be the ideal situation.

Hmm, how do u know if u have the male pattern hair loss or other hair loss problems?? Im still wondering what cause my hairloss. I used to wash my hair 3 times daily with warm or near hot water. My parents and bros have thick hair. So Im wondering if its becoz of me washing with warm water and 2 to 3 times daily instead of male pattern hair loss? In this case propecia will not be useful for me??

How do I know wat kinda hair loss Im suffering for?

Do not use warm or hot water to wash your hair.

Warm water open up pores. Use cool/cold water.

Though you still need to find out the underlying cause to your hair fall.

And for guys who do uses conditioner (though some don't), as your hairs are short, take care not to apply conditioner onto your scalp. Just the tip/end of the hair. As it's usually the end of the hair that gets dry. Do not apply conditioner onto the scalp as that can cause the hair fall. This is more external care to avoid worsening the existing condition. As the main culprit is usually related more to internal causes (such as health, gene and some say diet.... etc.....), so one really need to see doctor to find out the cause of hair fall.

Hi guys,

Just visited NSC today and unfortunately, the doc said I have many signs of male pattern bald. He commented that my hair density is still there but I beg to differ.

Anyway here's the question, is propecia from singapore better than that of other countries like malaysia or thailand? Heard that those from singapore are better hence the steeper price?

I was intending to get it from jb as its 2/3 the price compared to sg. However if propecia from sg is more effective then there's no point trying to cut corner.

just sharing

hi all, i have been reading the posts in this forum for quite sometime. just to share my experience. i'm 38, and my condition is at stage 3, though the top part is not really bald, just thin. my frontal hairline has receded about 2 inches already since maybe i was in my 20s, and oy could just imagine the sides (not sure how to call it, but you know the sides recede much more than center). i'm not much into taking medicines, i'd rather have "topical" application, and have tried minox. also quite a "brand" conscious guy thinking may be better quality. so i'v started minox with regaine. i could say it works, slow ... but it works, and you could see hair starting to grow in about 3-4 weeks of use, but the hair is very thin and weak. i've read in the posts here about retin-a and emu oil for absorption, and copper peptides for making thin hair healthier (?) plus nizoral . so i just kept on trying to research, then i came across this DS Lab Spectral DNC-L. well, interestingly, tied up with it;s Revita shampoo, it had all these. note that i have tried using retin-a and emu oil separately, but they just "harmed" my scalp and ended up with bumps. so crossed my fingers and ordered online. it stated that spectral DNC-L is for "advanced balding stages" ... so just decided to give it a try. now, 3 weeks into my use, breakthrough ... my hairline started to go back (unbelievable, yes ... but true). when i say that, i mean you could clearly see a dark shadow about 1 inch from where my hairline was already, coz hair started to grow, and it's that obvious. for the sides, same thing, not as fast as the center hairline, but yes where it was really "bald, now also have hairs growing. since i was just trying this, i only put this in front, and now i've seen development, i've started to apply on the top as well, now only since a week or so. so guys, yeah there is hope ... also try not to get so stressed i guess. i know it sounds good, there are also some hiccups that i have to manage (smell, color, etc), but i guess i could say i've found an effective way. btw, this is not a marketing thing ... i could tell you 100% this is my true experience. just thankful since i wouldn't have ended up here if it weren't for the posts here. any inquiry, you guys can just post or email questions and i'll be glad to help ... hehe do't worry no marketing/sales, no costs. just sharing what i hope will really be a success story. cheers !

Haha yes but if we take in the analogy of cigarette then there might be some truth? Cigs in malaysia is almost half the price of that in sg but the quality of cigs made in malaysia does not taste as good.

So if propecia made in malaysia might be cheaper coz of more inferior ingredients? haha. I bought 2 boxes at JB, city sq, watson at 60+bucks per box compared to sg's 90+ per box. Its considerably cheaper. Seriously I dunno if there's any difference in performance. Perhaps its all in the mind. Ppl tend to think that more expensive stuff will wield better results?
