ACCA Students.

Hi to seniors! I am greenhorn when it comes to ACCA but is comptemplating to take up this course. I am wondering if I could take up ACCA F4 paper and onwards (skipping the the first three papers)?

sami's consolidation style is not hard, in fact save more time in working. but if u are more comfortable with mr goh's style, then u already have an answer, dont u =)

Agree. I took F7 twice. The first timeI did it with Roy and boy he confuse the hell out of me. His consolidation method can be very confusing. And the way he teach can make u greatly underestimate the paper. Took Sami last semester and he is terrific, his method make so much sense and its extremely systematic and easy to understand.

But surprisingly Roy is decently good when he teaches P1, this is despite his mediocre linguistic skill, he pinpoint key points very well.

Any idea how to study for P3. Taking Dominic but I am very confused on how to start my revision. Too much to study and no focus at all. Kindda lost..

Very likely the consol qn for this year is Balance Sheet/PL

Mr Kwan's method to tackling consol is very very good

Attend all his lessons, practise regularly, read on your own and finally ask any qns in doubt.

For P3, you'll have to understand all the theories and their applications. Not much memory work is needed since the exam is all about applying the theories to the qns.

I believe you should try to go through all the past year qns and work out a certain standard format to answering the qns so as to lesser your planning time during exam.

I am a SAA student.. thinking of trying kaplan coz of the instalment schem..

i heard if the class is big.. they will have 2 classroom.. one classroom is the lecture and the other is the projector of the lecture?

Same sentiment... he is good tax lecturer i think but he very emo...
Thinking of either kaplan yvonne goh or ftms Mary chantel... she also produce prizewinner..
but i dun want to take chances cos i am weak in tax...moreover it is not a easy subject...
and SAA is cheaper in terms of course fees with most number of contact hours...
plus goh can explain concepts well... just that he is emo..

Hi, Yup, big classes like in Sami's, or during revision classes....they will have one main classroom and a broadcast room(which you only see the video of lecturer teaching).

As for the instalment scheme, Kaplan have more information on their website, you may want to refer to it. Below are some of the information that I retrieved from there:

-This scheme allows you to pay the January 2010 intake course fees by installments and is only applicable to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents
-Upon enrolment, 50% of course fee is payable and the 2nd installment of 50% is due on 26 February 2010

Advice Needed for F5 and F7 lecturers?

Dear friends, planning to take F5 and F7 for next year. Could anyone help to advise whether Yvonne Goh at FTC good at teaching F5 and Goh Sher Wee at SAA good at teaching F7? (Due to work schedule, have to choose these two lecturers' timeslots)
I am only a part-time student and hence prefer the lecturers' styles to be more easily understood and not so taxing and torturing. Sincerely hoping for some good advice. Thanks...

Ben Lee good for consol? I leave that for other forumers to answer, cos i took consol under Roy Goh. He use the same approach for his F7.

But Kaplan's Fees are getting real expensive and moreover I don't think we got a chance to do and practice questions in class for Yvonne Goh. Kaplan's lecturer's style normally don't have time for you to practice questions in the class. Unless this is exception..so much no input for those who attend her P6 Tax class...
