Just managed to get my friend's T410-540 lappy up and running - had to download several of the drivers after re-installing with Win7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Just checking with other T410 users - what CD / DVD writer software was provided? All I see in the STARTUP menu is WINDOWS DVD MAKER.

Tried SKYPE, microphone is very soft. What drivers you all using?

did you try adjust the volume in control panel too??? usually that setting is quite low de. need to up the volume yourself.

For the DVD, search for Burn.Now in lenovo website. cause that was the software provide when I search to 64bit.

Not sure if T410 preloads with this but it should work for T410.

Yep.

Actually I was using the Skype Recording Facility and Playback - it sounded soft.

When my wife called me on another PC, it was OK. Odd

Just download and install Roxio Business Edition. It's a Lenovo version also.

BTW, I was at another friends place and this T410 suddenly decided to use Intel ProSet to connect to his WiFi. Seems like it clashed with Lenovo's own Wifi connectivity. What would you recommend? Now I have two sets of bar-graphs in my System Tray, and it is using the Lenovo one to connect.

You should use only access connection when using Thinkpad.

Anyone here uses the Gobi2000 WWAN card here on X201? Where to get it at best price? And I'm wondering if it supports GPS too. On some websites, I saw GPS being mentioned in the specs. . So can we really install GPS navigation software on the X201 and use it?

I wanted to buy... but expensive though. 200+ yes it supports GPS.

I have the same problem on my T400 occassionally too. I just manually uninstall the proset management tool to resolve the issue.

Honestly speaking, feel that its useless. Once the laptop is lost, and the person boots up, 99% of the chance is he has no intention to return you the set.

First line of prevention is still to safekeep your precious laptop (and also other personal belongings).
