Release notes :
Download Manager 2 (DLM2) module 1.00.19

1. This module will install DLM2 1.00.19 in Thecus N0503 NAS.
2. It just works with N0503 firmware 3.xx.xx.
3. Please check the following guide to install the module from admin web GUI.

4. Changed the BT port range to 10000~65536 to avoid possible conflict with
TwonkyMedia (port 9000 and 9010). Pleas also notice the amule uses port
4711 as a control panel, and TCP 4662 / UDP 4672 by default.
5. Moved the downloading files to Download Folder ("_P2P_Download" by default)
thus they will be accessible while the task not finished orcleaned.

Yes because it's hot swappable.

guys, i really need some help here.

my connection is:
Mio Modem --Wired Connection -> Nas
Mio Modem --Wired Connection -> Desktop
Mio Modem -- Wireless Connection -> 2 laptops and 1 PS3.

I was able to play movies files (.avi) from ps3 but however unable to play through the desktop nor the laptops. esp i have quite a number of rmbv files, when i play, real player will just hang.

PS3 can play seamlessly but not the computer.
any help here will be greatly appreciated.

i've tried. but yield the same result....
its funny though wireless PS3 able to play the avi nicely but not the wired desktop.

For RMVB files, i even tried to move the buffering cache for real player to about 400mb, still same...
apparently, after i click play, i have to wait about 5 - 10 mins then the video will be played. but choppy...

Hi Andrew,
With the latest release of the TwonkyMedia server module to replace the previous media server that is full of problem, do you know for users who bought the N2200 just a few months earlier, are we able to get a free license for it since the newer N2200 comes with one now?

Also, can you advise how the time machine support works cos I can't get my iMac time machine to work with the N2200 after upgrading to this latest firmware version.

Just go the N5500 with 5 Hitachi 2TB as recommended. I have the following issues need to consult you:-

1.0 I have created a few folders which under the Public, i have chosen "No". When I tried to access from my desktop PC with Windows XP, it would pop up menu to ask for User Name and Password. Which user name and password should I use? No matter how many time I tried, I simply could not enter into the folder. It happened to the USBHDD, USBCOPY folder as well. Can advise?

2.0 I am using Linksys WAG200G router with HP Gigabit Ports to connect to this NAS. I am thinking to access to my NAS while i am oversea through internet. I tried to follow the N5500 manual but simply could not get into NAS which located in my office from my house. Any simple guide or "tutorial" I can follow ? Can give me some pointers?

Hello, don't particularly have time right now to provide detailed answers, so pardon my short replies.

1) Did you check whether your firewalls have been configured to allow full access to your NAS on your network?

2) For this, you need DynDns. Register an account, then you need to download the DynDns updater onto your office computer.

Windows XP has some problems with the SMB shares that linux creates. But anyway, did you create a Username and allow full access to the Folder in question?

If you did and have trouble with logging in to reach the folder it's probably because Windows does not get the domain correct. You may try (domain)\username when asked for username, domain being the hostname of the device, mine's N0503 for instance.

The best way is to mount it using net use command in CMD prompt

something like:

net use Z: \\(hostname)\(folder name)

it will then prompt you for user name and password

Accessing the NAS from overseas, you could try setting up FTP first. First get it to successfully work locally (within your LAN)

then you need to set up Dynamic DNS, best to set up at the router itself if the firmware supports because the router can easily sense IP changes. Check your router page for any Dynamic DNS options.

This part is the hardest and even I am trying to fix it. You need to ensure your device's FTP server is running in passive mode. Then you will need to be able to set your passive port range, if your FTP server can't do that then it's not going to work from behind a router. Then forward port 21 and the full passive port range to your device IP.


FTP is the method of my choice, i do believe there are other options like iSCSI targets and other file transfer protocols.
