Scooba got less problem with rugs as compared to roomba. Roomba will go over it and get caught onto the mainbrush or sidebrush. I basically change all those rugs into those floormat where the underneath is a big piece of antiskid like material. This way roomba will go over and vacuum it instead of tangling it.

Yup.. guess that is the only way bah.. Roomba seems to have less problem with some of my mats which are anti-slips ones. It is those cheapo ones that have more problems.

Next step is to try out the virtual walls

I have seen articles that people DIY-ed their own virtual walls. suppose to cost less than $5 worth of parts. Anyone done those before?

Brought it back in the check-in luggage. The box it came with is quite a size. Seems too big for the airline to allow carry-on. Anyway the box seems quite sturdy for some abuse.

For now I try to close the door when it is cleaning. I think I need more than the 2 virtual walls included in the package to cover all the forbidden territories, should have ordered more virtual walls.:s27::s27:

not sure how yr place looks. what i do is to segment the rooms. i got 3 rooms in my place with a mini-corridor (with edges).

so i will do room 1 and 2, seperated by a lighthouse and block off the corridor with a virtual wall.

after it's done, then i go on with room 3 with closed doors.

think the 2 virtual walls are enough. just need to play around with the 2 walls.

n going in thru those laminated mini kerb... if its not high enough, the machine will defintely goes over it. go n buy the batteries or use something to block the area. i am making use of my wii board hahhaaa

erm, what do you mean by buy batteries? roomba can use the batteries to climb up? kind of like creating a mini ramp?

I think the main difference between 570 and 560 is that 570 supports the lighthouse, while 560 does not.

If lghthouse is what you want, you can contact me at 81254240. I have both the 550 & 560 with lighthouse :)

So far iRobot cleaner has been serving us well. Samsung Navibot is appealing though... And based on advertisement, it appears to be the closest competitor to iRobot. I will love to possess another one, if the price is right =:p

Remember your last trip to Korea, i was hoping that u get to see the Navibot there. In any case, it appears that the Navibot may not necessarily perform a better job than the roomba (according to feedbacks and the recent cnet video review). Roomba's vacuum + brush system is pretty effective in picking up dust and debris. If only it has a more intelligent mapping system ...

Saw advertisement for the Navibot in today's paper. Sold by Mega Discount Store...700++...cheaper than local iRobot?
