so we can use SGD to change vietnam dong directly there? I thought the money changer only accept USD and the higher the face value of the note the better the exchange rate given.
but do we still need USD then?

use USD for hotel and tour.. other than that use SGD to change to VND..

Usually about 20 - 30k dong/kg. But some mercenaries charge by per article as well which ends up very expensive.

Just change VND in HCMC.

Can chg some in airport, look for money changers whom dun charge commission. Change the rest when you are in the city. I chg in District 1, the rate was better than in SG.

I did not use USD at all.

wat do you guys think abt
Viet Nam Exploration Tour With Open Bus (16D-15N)
offer by Sinhtourist at 640USD...

Sai Gon – Dalat - Nha Trang – Hoi An – Hue - Ha Noi – Ha Long – Sapa (16D - 15N) with flight back to Sai Gon

http://www.thesinhtourist.vn/TourPlaces.aspx?SearchMap=0

or better to plan one on my own? I already came out with one... w/o Hue but more days at Nha Trang... calculate the cost only transport, hotels and some local tour packages also about 640USD but i choose only all 3 stars hotels and i travel by trains with 2 short bus trips from Nha Trang to Dalat and Dalat to HCM... moreover i need to fly to Hanoi first which cost more than flying to HCM to start with...

the Sinhtourist package does include meals not all but most... just that must have min people to confirm reservation...

Hi guys.. planning a weeks stay in vietnam..

Going to hanoi... halong bay then sapa..

now heres the trick..i'm not gonna spend a lot.. max is about $200 for the whole trip.

Will not do any shopping AT ALL.. and looking for rooms that can accomodate for 2 at around $10 night?.. went to thailand on those kind of budgets and i figure its more than enough for veitnam.

Lets say if we did get join a tour guide for sapa.. whats the cheapest option.. probably gonna spend 2 nights in sapa at most.

Guess u better forget your plan to Hanoi. Sapa will cost u abt 120, while Halong abt 60. Do your calculation. :D

I was wondering why is Sinh Tourist charging such a cheap fee as compared to the tour operators that hotel uses. Can they be trust? Any hidden charges?

Going for 1 day Mekong tour and half day Cu Chi tunnel tour.
