i am currently getting 1.88% from OCBC Easi credit. no processing fee and got a free watch too.

UOB is offering 3% no processing fee and they give u $40 shell vouchers

i used to get from SCB 1.88% no processing fee and revolving credit. this one just ended and SCB can only offer me 2.88% revolving credit also

HSBC also has 1.88% no processing fee- but not sure still have or not

i guess this is for selected customers only. OCBC sendtme a empty chq for me to cash in and give me a free watch worth $139.

1-2 week after i cash in the chq, a OCBC officer call me to offer me 1.88% - this time without the watch. but i already took up the earlier offer (which is better)

They will call me to offer me good rate. As i frequently took up fund transfer from various bank, i guess they already have my record.

i guess i get a better rate if they call u instead of u calling them. i think it helps that i am a frequent customers of fund transfer

--------

how do you all get such good rates?
what do you say to the telemarketer?

Hi guys, how does balance transfer/fund transfer works? Do you borrow from Bank B to pay your credit card bill with Bank A?

Is there any lock-in period (ie must borrow the funds with Bank B for minimum X months to enjoy the promo rate)? Or can i apply for a balance/fund transfer with Bank C before the promo rate ends?

Does it matter if my credit card bill is from Amex and local banks?

Thank you for reading and answering my questions :)

yes. Borrow from bank A to pay bank B credit card bill. Save on the interest. Maybe 3%yearly compared to 24%.

Depend on banks. Usually no penalty for early repayment. Monthly still have to pay minimum sum.

You can apply for another bank fund transfer before the original is up n repay it. No issue. Just like playing musical chair. A to b to c to d then back again. But then try to clear up the debt instead is best.

Some fund transfer, though no processing fee, impose upfront interest charge rather than on reducing balance.
