totally agree with this.

they dont even have real experience with the grassroot and workings of ministry or any org i would say. neither do they have any achievement like csm in the private sector to share their expertise with. how can such a person represent us in the parliament?

want groom, go home groom first. start by doing more social work, get in touch with people. dont just appear suddenly and tell people i want to be in parliament, vote for me. both pap and opposition candidates are lidat. totally disappointed.

imo, its sad that there isnt any more people like csm, tan jay see from sdp willing to stand up. pls dont put trash together with these high calibre people so that they can ride into the parliament. what a disgrace to them.

dun noe whether nicole will continue working in grassroot..

later no more passion still gt degree can go eat

there are actually more than enough qualified people to stand up to this, much better some of these candidates presented to us that is gng to ride in thru the grc. tonnes of people work in the civil service and are very familar with the limitations of the current policy. and many are not speaking against the system.

maybe the political env is still not mature or vibrant enough to bring in people who really can bring a change to our governance. so we have what small executive people from E&Y, advertising coy, insurance agent joining the election

See the video, and listen to what she said. she definitely has more substance than tin tin. Her thoughts are matured for her age. I think she will be able to contribute in parliament and help all singaporeans.

If a person can't even think of what to say, who think that it's not their responsibility as leaders to solve problems... do you think they are going to "do" any better? :s22:

To the pappies this is sure win formula.

Why do you think they implement this GRC system?

To ensure new PAP candidates can get in piggy back on Minister's coat tails.

Many new PAP ministers and MPs had never contested in elections before. Walkovers and they automatically get in without a sweat.

I still maintain for a fair fight. Revert to SMCs system last time and 1 to 1 hand combat. Then we will see some real MPs.

Ah Kong said GRC is the only manner where Minoritys can have a seat in the Parliament.

So in a recent CNA interview, Goh Meng Seng from NSP asked Michael Palmer from PAP( a minority himself) if a Minority contest for a SMC and wins it, is it based on Merit.

Michael Palmer said yes, for a Minority to win in a SMC is based on his good standing and the hard work he has put in.

Goh Meng Seng gave him a classic move. He said if that is the case since a minority can win a SMC based on good standing and hard work, why then is there a need for a GRC. Isn't that a slap in the face for PAP?

Everyone started laughing including the host of CNA and she has to digress the issue to something else to save Michael's red face. :s13:

I'm not trying to be biased but don't you guys feel that when TPL is not cocking up on her communication with the masses, her words sound so...scripted? Nic Seah looks and sounds more like a person who can think and speak on her feet.

Someone who has been on the grounds will speak from the heart.
Those who have not been on the grounds will speak from the script. :s13:

It's quite unthinkable that GCT will lose. But a good score (40%+) against GCT's team will be a great achievement.

Nicole is young. She has a whole life ahead of her to gain a seat in Parliament if it is what she want after this election.

Nicole is younger than Sylvia Lim and as long as she partakes in community service same as before with the desire to serve, she will earn her entry into Parliament one day. Not piggy riding:s13:

i think PAP elders must be cursing how come they cannot get candidates like nicole and instead the best of their lot are mostly duds lol

Is it?

It's not as if there were no good MPs from them.. There were.. but.. pple who challenged the system are not wanted.. maybe?

Sylvia Lim is very vocal in Parliament. But a lot of ppl had forgotten she is NCMP (Non-constituency MP). Sylvia Lim said liao. NCMP no power.

Sylvia Lim fight so long also no "proper" seat in parliament. It is going to tough for Nicole.

Based on the words that come out of both TPL and NS, i feel TPL has much less substance than NS.
And you consider each of their background, it is not a surprise.

I have a friend in Accenture who seen her work and her attitude as an auditor, my friend says that she is an aloof person.
