Yes he is still very much around.

Contacted him on Wed regarding e recall of my MB and we scheduled to have him exchange it for me the very next day.

Prompt, excellent service.

This SSD technology is still evolving. It boils down to the number of read/write cycles. Maybe some of our friends in IMFlash Singapore can give some advise.

Intel wanted to represent its SSD lifespan as a function of the amount of data written per day, so Intel met with a number of OEMs and collectively they came up with a target figure: 20GB per day. OEMs wanted assurances that a user could write 20GB of data per day to these drives and still have them last, guaranteed, for five years. Intel had no problems with that.

Anything without any moving parts, is indeed alot more reliable than counterparts with moving parts.

So much more external factors are involved when there's moving parts. It's not a misconception. Theoretically, yes that SSDs are more reliable than HDDs from this mechanic point of view.

Agreed. Other factors include ie, moving parts will of course incur friction which leads to wear and tear, hence higher risks of breakdown.
